Are lions delicious?
From what I understand from my brother who went on a hunting safari there.....the locals eat just about any ‘bush meat’.
What he killed (nothing endangered) he gave to the villages for food so it wasn’t wasted. That’s kind of a code in our family. You don’t kill something that can’t be eaten. What this guy did is disgraceful.
I saw lion meat for sale at Savenor's Market in Cambridge, Massachusetts. That's the market the NPR's Julia Child used to shop for her cooking show.
Speaking for American Mountain Lion, yes... A weird grain to the white-ish meat, but pork-ish in flavor... maybe with a touch of gamey rabbit in the aftertaste... Tends to be dry like rabbit... needs a sauce, or to be cooked in lard/butter for a fat of some sort... Lynx/Bobcat... about the same...
