Maybe so. The ambitions of some of these politicians could well cost us several seats in the Senate.>
Anyone know if Vitter's Senate term is over in 2016, or is he resigning and causing the need of a special election? And Jindal would have to forget about he presidential race at some point to run for the Senate.
Vitter’s current term expires in Jan 2017. If he wins the Governorship, he’ll resign in Jan 2016 and appoint his successor to serve until the Nov elections (he’s unlikely to leave his seat until the day he is sworn in because he doesn’t want Jindal to appoint his successor, since he may appoint himself to the vacancy to give himself a leg up).
And Jindal would have to forget about he presidential race at some point to run for the Senate.

Well, that would keep him from being embarrassed by a bad finish in the Presidential Race. And, it would keep him in politics.
