There are some things Jeb Bush seems more comfortable saying in Spanish.
In his second language, the one he polished to woo his Mexican-born wife, Bush has more than once opened up in interviews in ways he has not yet in English.
That may have to do with the questions Bush, an honorary Cuban American, gets asked in Spanish versus the ones he gets asked in English. But whether it's because of Bush or because of the interviewers, the former Florida governor has expressed himself in more personal terms en español.
In Puerto Rico earlier this year, Bush's answer to whether he'd attend a same-sex wedding -- "Claro que sí" -- was far warmer in Spanish than in English. Earlier Monday, he said in Spanish that he had been "hurt" by Donald Trump's comments about Mexicans.
And in the same interview with Telemundo's José Diaz-Balart, Bush opened up about a time one of his sons, now-Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush, faced teasing because of the color of his skin.
Here's a transcript of the exchange, as translated by Telemundo:
Díaz-Balart: I know your three sons are bilingual. Were there times when they were younger where they were targeted either because of the color of their skin or their accent? And as a father how did you talk to them when they would tell you that they were laughed at because of their accent or the color of their skin?

If “dark-skinned” Latinos are treated so horribly here, then maybe we should stop illegal immigration. We’d be doing the illegals a favor by keeping them out of this dreadful, racist country.
A Bush is discriminated against. LOL!. Right up there with Clinton saying she’s dead broke. Elite and out of touch.
Dems should donate all day to this clown it will ensure a Dem victory
Bush is a pandering RACIST.
He could replace Hillary if the Democrats could stomach him
We need someone who supports America and not Mexico.
The GOP has a death wish if they nominate this guy, he’s even worse than McAmnesty and Romneycare.
Hillary would be the lesser evil
¡Yeb! wants to turn our country into North Mexico.
Hillary will be the lesser evil if he’s nominated.
Jeb has the son that bo wished he had.
It’s enough to be a uniparty ho yourself without turning out your son.
Boy, get yourself to the tanning bed, don’t you know your daddy wants you to show some leg for the black community? He’s eighteen points down in the polls!!
Part of me wants Jeb to win, so I can watch the MSM rip him to shreds.
Jebito has already been colonized by his Mexican wife. She's put him on his belly and planted the Mexican flag in his @$$.
The only ‘skin’ issue here is ‘thin’...
Votando por Jeb Bush?
Claro que no!
Oh I did better than that.
Anybody can.
I wasn't a governor, but I was in control of the hiring, firing, and employment of a large number of people.
The only criterion I used was ability to do the job.
I never discriminated against or for anyone on any other basis.
I hired people regardless of race, age, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation or identification--any category that can be identified and into which people can be stuffed.
I hired people of all races--an ex-convict--sick people--a man with HIV--fat people--a schizophrenic woman--and alcoholic--you name it. I hired a man with inoperable cancer; he didn't take the job, but I didn't discriminate against him because of his illness.
They all did their work well.
I only fired two people in my entire career--both because they faked results. In each case it took me an entire day to prove dishonesty, but I did it and fired each on the spot.
I didn't "bring in everybody who wanted to be with me." Whether they liked me or not was beside the point.
I also didn't attempt to achieve "diversity". I didn't have to. My method produced diversity naturally. It also avoided placing people in categories. It welcomed people regardless of any category that one might recognize and naturally included unrecognizable categories.
Jeb doesn't understand that most categories that people could be placed in are unrecognized, probably unrecognizable. He would have done better to opt for people and let the categories--and the "diversity"--take care of themselves.
To discriminate for someone because he fits in some category is just as unjust as to discriminate against someone for the same reason, and vice versa.
“Hillary would be the lesser evil”
I don’t think so.
No reason to become deranged.
Who will have a harder time getting the very same things through Congress?
