Although it’s probably wishful thinking, I’d be all in for a third party if it could win and at the same time drive the GOP into the dustbin of history. We are witnessing the absolute worst of the worst in the GOPe. They do not exhibit one whit of moral decency. They are all about crony capitalism and doing what’s best only for them and their benefactors.

And I don’t think anyone here, even Trump’s strong detractors would say that Trump doesn’t love this country. And I do feel deep down he is doing whatever he is doing, because he sees this country going down the tubes.

You’re kidding, right? I could see Cruz taking the VP slot on the Trump team, but there’s no way Trump is going to “fade into the background” voluntarily.
If Cruz can win on his own, fine! But he’s a young man, and the VP office in a Trump Admin would almost guarantee his becoming president after Trump runs one or two terms. Cruz’ polling numbers don’t have him anywhere near where he needs to be to be the candidate. At least not at present. That’s sad, but it’s the truth.
Gee. Soon The Donald will have to quit those expensive Big Macs and get in the queue at the free soup place His poverty is rivaling Hilary’s destitute condition. (And meanwhile the islamonazi- in- chief is sending another 150 Billion $$ to his irani terrorist thug comrades so they can finish building their nuclear strike force to destroy The Great Satan). Truly, we live in “Interesting times”. Where do we send our charity donations for Food For Trump?

Sorry, National Review is so disgustingly GOPe now it is compromised Buckley would be ashamed. They run five Trump hit pieces a day, and Byron York does nothing but Tweet anti-Trump stuff ( and so far has been wrong in all his predictions).
Yet Cruz has met with Trump privately twice in the last couple of months.

It is nice that Trump says what many want to hear but he is a carnival barker. He says whatever depending on the audience. A plus is he would bomb the bejesus out of Iran.
It is not surprising he is lying about what money he has. He has manipulated those who invested in him and his companies to his own benefit leaving others on the short end from those that invested in condos using his name (google: trump condos scam) to casinos. A wake of bankruptcy leaving creditors owed from thousands to millions.
I would not want him in charge of the economy.
