The Daily Beast vs. Donald Trump (This is why Michael Cohen is called Trump's pitbull)
politico.com ^ | Dylan Byers

Posted on 07/28/2015 6:50:26 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

Late Monday night, The Daily Beast published a report about Donald Trump's ex-wife Ivana and her accusations against her former husband. In a deposition from their divorce, revealed in a book published in 1993, Ivana accused the real estate mogul and now Republican presidential candidate of “violent assault" and "rape," though not in the "criminal sense."

"I will make sure that you and I meet one day while we’re in the courthouse. And I will take you for every penny you still don’t have. And I will come after your Daily Beast and everybody else that you possibly know,” Michael Cohen, Trump's special counsel and spokesperson, told the Beast's Tim Mak. “So I’m warning you, tread very f------ lightly, because what I’m going to do to you is going to be f------ disgusting. You understand me?

*snip*

[T]hey are being refuted by none other than Ivana Trump.

"I have recently read some comments attributed to me from nearly 30 years ago at a time of very high tension during my divorce from Donald," she said in a statement obtained by CNN. "The story is totally without merit. Donald and I are the best of friends and together have raised three children that we love and are very proud of. I have nothing but fondness for Donald and wish him the best of luck on his campaign. Incidentally, I think he would make an incredible president."

In less than twenty-four hours...this story is finished and done.

Trump has figured out their news cycle. They are screwed.

I think the remainder of the Republicans on the primary run have maybe six weeks to rethink how they approach Iowa and Trump.

Ivana brings the ice water and shuts down yet another attempt by the liberal/RHINO smear merchants.

BOOM!

Was it “not rape-rape” ?

Does it fall under the “one free grope rule” ?

Ivana still has Trumps last name. How angry can she be?

That happened so fast it almost looks like Trump anticipated it, set out the bait, they took and then he dropped the hammer all as part of a well executed plan. I’m not saying that this is the way it happened.... but the speed from start to finish of this is nothing short of astounding. Makes you think that the media is going to have to be a tad more careful around The Donald.... nah, they aren’t that smart.

“[T]hey are being refuted by none other than Ivana Trump."

For some reason that reminds me of an exchange between John F. Kennedy and a reporter.

The reporter was asking JFK if detonating a series of hydrogen bombs in space would affect the Van Allen belt.

Kennedy replied "Van Allen says they won't affect the belt."

They should have kept it going for atleast another news Cycle so PIAPS could have been asked about it.

So Mrs. Clinton, it was reported yesterday that Donald raped his wife. Is that they way you think men should treat Women?

Haahahahaha

Then have another follow up. So Mrs. Clinton is this a Bimbo eruption or someone dragging a 100 dollar bill through a trailer park to see what turns up?

I hope Cohen stays true to his threat to destroy Tim Mak and The Daily Beast. I bet that young reporter is crapping down both legs from fear.

Michael Cohen is a pitbull, and a bit of a moron. How any lawyer could publicly state that a man cannot legally rape his wife is astounding. Not only is that 100% wrong legally, but the lawyer should have anticipated that his comments would be widely reported, to the detriment of his client.

Tim Mak and the Daily Beast surely have their own lawyers who, if they were at all competent, would have advised them that Cohen’s rant was all bluster, and that Trump has no meritorious claims against Mak of the Daily Beast.

Puny RINOs

P.S. Does anybody remember a superhero series or movie ( yeah, that really narrows it down ) where the villain absorbs each attack against him and gets bigger and stronger? That is what Trump is reminding me of. It must be driving his enemies insane.

“It is true,” Cohen added. “You cannot rape your spouse. And there’s very clear case law.”

Cohen is right that there is very clear caselaw, but the very clear caselaw says exactly the opposite of what Cohen says it does.

Cowardly republicans...do you see how the game is played!

It is due to your wimpy fearful defensive attitudes that the wack job loony tune idiots of the left have succeeded and are now fully in charge!

All of you repukes were there. You were in Congress, you had a platform, but none of you were willing to step out and confront the insanity and the calamity that beset our nation.

The psychos of the left are in charge because you defaulted to them out of fear for your own piece of the pie.

Stand aside cowards. One lone, confident American Man will do the job you failed.

I wonder if something was taken out of context, because clearly Cohen knows marital rape or non-consensual sex rape is illegal.

I wish he would clarify that for us...without making it news.;-)
