I’ve always been very skittish on escalators. My family laughs at me, but I don’t like them and avoid them if possible.

Poor woman, RIP, she saved her son, that was very good.

About 40 years ago, I was wearing soft rubber sole slip-on shoes and didn’t lift my foot off the top landing of an escalator in Guam. It grabbed my shoe and sucked it right in. I was able to yank my foot out of the shoe. Scared the daylights out of me. It happened so fast there was no time to think.

The poor woman. Gives me the creeps just thinking about it.

When I was very small I fell down an escalator and I still have a small scar on my chin. Everything I do on an escalator is calculated...one, two, three, step. My family would laugh at me too, but I don't think I've ever told them about my escalator phobia.
