Will, Krauthammer: GOP Base Frustration ‘Mistaken,’ Cruz Hypocritical in McConnell Attack
Breitbart ^ | 7/27/2015 | Ian Hanchett

Posted on 07/27/2015 6:20:06 PM PDT by VinL

Columnists George Will and Charles Krauthammer agreed with Texas Senator and Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on the substance of his opposition to the Export-Import Bank, but argued that the Republican base’s frustration is “mistaken” and that Cruz engaged in “an act of rather amazing hypocrisy” by accusing McConnell of lying ....

Will said, “The Republican base is frustrated. I understand it. It’s to be sympathized with, but it’s mistaken, fundamentally. Their view is, you have the butchers of Planned Parenthood, you can’t do anything about them. You have the Ex-Im Bank, which is, they think, crony capitalism, and I agree, can’t do anything about that. Why can’t anything get done? The paradox is this is something getting done in Washington. There’s three important bills this summer, the highway bill, the Ex-Im Bank extension, and the trade authorization. They have large, overlapping, but disparate constituencies. And this is a transactional business, you vote for this, I’ll vote for that. Give me this, I’ll do that. … This is actually Washington functioning. It’s not producing the results that conservatives want, not producing the results I want, but it certainly is Washington working as it’s designed to work.”

He added, “the Ex-Im Bank survives for the same reason a lot of weapons systems survive. They spread the loans like honey across toast all across the country, so that every Congressional district and Senate has a beneficiary of the Ex-Im Bank. Planned Parenthood is going to get a vote on defunding that. The problem is, there aren’t enough votes too do it. There aren’t enough to get 60 for cloture. So, it’s going to be voted on, and it’s going to sail right on.”

Krauthammer argued that “Ted Cruz also wants to be Trump after Trump, because (snip)

Ted has broken Reagans rule, but only because our party is broken.

You know he tried to talk to these chuckleheads offline.

Will and Krauthammer need to retire. They are no long relevant to any discussion. Why anyone can stand to watch them mystifies me. I like the host, but those voices of “reason” fail to grasp reality.

I no longer watch the program. I know exactly what they’ll say on any issue. Rarely do they say anything the rest of us would agree upon.

Murdoch’s son runs this fiasco. The changes he has made are disasterous. He is obviously far more liberal than his father.

Kudos to Ailes for disobeying some of the orders coming down.

Krauthammer is gonna have a tough night watching Hannity make him look stupid by announcing that there are already 3 senators confirming the McConnell did lie and Cruz was correct ( he was probably taping in studio when Hannity was on the radio live today ). Getting old and stupid Charles, by opening your mouth *without* the facts and giving the benefit of the doubt NOT to Cruz, but the (R)INO establishment.

George Will, well he has needed a stroke test for many years. Either that, or he wore out his brain cells and wasted neurons on all that meaningless baseball trivia.

“Columnists George Will and Charles Krauthammer ...”

Two RINO pontificating intellectual whores that pull on a cape of conservatism to fool the unwashed common core educated masses.

And I don’t blame Ted for a second for capitalizing on Trumps momentum though I do wish he had let Trump take the fall.

Conversely, I know Ted is not a stupid man.
Let’s get these things out there now.

HE is not SKEERED or stupid.

Take notes on the turncoats.

Funny how McCain and McConnell call Cruz every name in the book and that's not breaking Reagan's rule. But when Cruz returns fire that's breaking Reagan's rule and makes the headlines as such.

F’n hypocrites.

Will said, “The Republican base is frustrated. I understand it." Will doesn't understand. His day (if he ever had one) has long since passed. He needs to shut up.

Kraus fancies himself the intellectual for the right. He is either intimidated by Cruz, who is at least his equal and probably his better, or he is simply out of touch with the passionate way we feel.

George Will used to be sensible.

Both are shilling for Bush. Not gonna happen!

The only way to explain their actions is just as Mr Cruz did.
You are Liars on the take.
What other explanation is there?

It’s a bunch of DC insiders playing “Good Cop, Bad Cop” then retiring to private chambers to smoke cuban cigars, sip Cognac ad slap each other on the bake about how they put one over on the Rubes today and reading their stock quotes in Barron’s
