While presidential scion Jeb Bush was out jogging last week, Miami immigration officials deported his maid to her native Honduras.
The Immigration and Naturalization Service used to send a deportation letter ahead of their agents. But a new law allows the agents to apprehend someone without any forewarning once all deportation appeals fail, said Richard Smith, director of the INS office in Miami.
The new law, called the Immigration Act of 1990, was signed on Nov. 29 by Jeb`s father, President Bush.
The maid, Maria Magdalena Romero, had used up all of her appeals, Smith said on Monday. Romero had a work permit but was an illegal alien, he said. An illegal immigrant is allowed to work, based on economic necessity, during removal hearings.

“Jeb and Columba hired an illegal alien who worked for them for over 3 years until she was deported.”
****
Clearly an act of love...of cheap labor.
Mitt got caught twice with the same illegals. Liberals didn’t care and supported him anyway.
I really believe this is the extent of Jeb’s concern and affection for those south of the border. As long as they take care of his pool, house, and landscaping, and stay out of sight, well, that’s all he really wants.
What a phony.
I didn’t realize Romney was in the race. I’ll have to check that out.
Funny thing is that Jeb skipped the deportation and went jogging and made Columba deal with it!
His Brother, while President of the United States, during war time was informed his Homeland security boss Chertoff had people wandering around his private residences who were in the country illegally.
During war time. Was he fired? Did heads roll? No, no...Nothing...
Those of us who make our own beds, don’t have pools or gardeners couldn’t give a Jeb’s a** that he lost his maid.
Same with the filthy rich broad who was running for CA Governor...She had illegals doing all her domestic stuff so she could play big shot business woman politician.
It smoked her chances. Her illegal servant turned on her with vengeance.
He's a big bully, that's why.
I wonder if the Bush family paid all the income tax and social security/Medicare/Medicaid taxes due for this employee??
I believe this same situation caused a Supreme Court nominee to withdraw from consideration about the same time.
Get Trump's guys on that, STAT!
I’m sure half of FR would vote for him. Again. After he rubbed their noses in it 18 hours after the Great Fail. Check his Kingmaker gatherings with Walker and Christie and Rubio and Jeb. He’s in it. Running or not. Sad but true.
Wanna bet Jebbie got a head’s up that the INS officers were on the way?
And conveniently went jogging so he wouldn’t be there when the agents arrived to deport Maria?
When George W. Bush was 13 (Jeb was 7), his family acquired a nanny:
She was standing on the doorstep, alone in the rain. She looked tired and scared. A few days earlier, Paula Rendon had said goodbye to her family in Mexico and boarded a bus bound for Houston. She arrived with no money and no friends. All she had was an address, 5525 Briar Drive, and the names of her new employers, George and Barbara Bush.[Decision Points, By George W. Bush]
Dubya goes on:
I was thirteen years old when I opened the door that evening in 1959. Before long, Paula became like a second mother to my younger brothers and sister and me. She worked hard, taking care of our family in Texas and her own in Mexico. Eventually she bought a home and moved her family to Houston.
Yep...no doubt .
they just let her be deported...didn’t hire a lawyer for her...sounds heartless
Not an “act of Love.”
And what about the Social Security, Medicare and Unemployment taxes that Jeb and Columba owed for hiring her?
Yes. Jeb and Columba would have owed 3 years of taxes for hiring their illegal maid. Did they cough up the bucks?
