Actually Vancouver, like the rest of the inland waters of the Pacific Northwest, enjoys a modified Mediterranean climate. The climate here is characterized by a cool drizzly winter and warm summer drought. It has been atypically dry here, however - in Seattle we’ve had less than 3 inches of rain since April and less than 1 since May. The long term models don’t show any significant precip for the next 60 days.

Over here on the eastern side of the Cascades we are also experiencing a draught with water-use restrictions. Irrigation district customers in Kennewick, for example, are restricted to watering lawns 30 minutes twice a week. 102-104F temps forecast for the coming weekend and that water isn’t going to amount to much.
