When I was 15 my Dad and I had to ditch in corn field because of engine trouble. (C172) In no less than 15 minutes we see this guy walking in the cornfield. We think its the farmer but he says “I am from the FAA, can I help you?” and my Dad asks him so do you guys hide behind billboards? (The field was just off an iInterstate) We laugh. He helps us push the plane to the country road. My Dad makes some carb adjustments and we take off. The corn we wrecked cost us about $350.
