Exodus from Puerto Rico could upend Florida vote in 2016 presidential race

Puerto Rico’s economic crisis meant Jeffrey Rondon, 25, struggled to find even part-time work, so he recently joined the growing exodus from his Caribbean island to Florida. Now he holds a full-time restaurant job and something that could upend the 2016 presidential election — the right to vote in Florida, the biggest of all swing states.

Rondon will be a registered Democrat by 2016. So I say let the Puerto Ricans stay whee they are.

Again nothing to do with Puerto Rico, which is neither Central American or a country.

And what does have that to do with an article about U.S. citizens moving from Puerto Rico to Florida? A bunch of New Yorkers and Pennsylvanians move to North Carolina every year, but that has nothing to do with our illegal-alien problem, either.

U.S. citizens from anywhere in America that move to Florida could “upend the Florida vote in 2016.” Why did an article about Puerto Ricans moving to Central Florida make you think of how 25%+ of Salvadorans and Mexicans (both of whom are foreigners) now live in the U.S.?

So when you read about Wisconsinites or New Jerseyans moving to the Sunbelt and, naturally, registering to vote in their new home state, you immediately think of illegal aliens from Mexico or El Salvador sneaking past our southern border and maybe registering to vote? Okay then ....

I'm tired of anti-Hispanic sentiment here at FR. My brother married a Mexican and two of my nieces are half Mexican. Should we deport them just because they're Anglos.

For the record, I'm against illegal immigration. But for the Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, etc let's embrace them to USA and welcome them to GOP. By the way I love Mexican food.
