MSNBC host and NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent Andrea Mitchell stated that when she spoke to intelligence officials at a security conference, “nobody can give an explanation for why a cabinet secretary would have a private email system other than to thwart inquiries, FOIAs” on Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
Mitchell said that it’s possible that the impact of Clinton’s emails on her campaign has been underestimated. She continued, “Look, you have two inspectors general, and they are referring to this to the Justice Department. Now, you can try to confuse it, and there’s been a lot of misdirection. There’s been inaccurate reporting significantly, on Thursday night by the New York Times, it’s not a criminal referral, not at this stage. It could become, and it could become nothing. But, what they are suggesting is that there were classified — four out of the 40 randomly selected, had classified information, and it was not information that was later upgraded to be classified. It was information that was classified as ‘secret,’ which is a level of classification, at the time. This gets very confusing. And it can be confused further by statements on all sides. That said, the original sin, if you will, is having a private email system.”

My implications was that “the word was out.”
Someone else posted that maybe it was a case of “get the bad news out early.” Hil and Bill have used this technique successfully in the past, saying “that’s old news, it’s part of the VWRC, there’s nothing there, what difference does it make, etc.” Either way, I too question MSNBC’s objectivity.
I've said that before too. The fact that Mitchell is saying these things now is irrelevant.
Remember folks, this is still a year away from the general election and a good 4 months away from even the first primary. The Beast will claim at that time that this, Benghazi, et al, are "old news"; assuming any presstitute even brings up such questions at that time.
They all know the score. Run the "hard news" before even the primaries (if what they run on Dems can even be called that, because notice, none of these types of stories run on the nightly news. Even Mitchell's thoughts here probably won't be repeated even on the Sunday talking head programs.). Then it's all "old news" come primary time.
Future pant suit spokes idiot during a slow news cycle in January: Benghazi? Email server? That's old news, Hillary is running to change the country for the better by looking towards the future. Not back in the past...blah blah platitude blah...
This is also why she has no problem going before Congress to testify now. Trey Gowdy can think he's catching her in a trap all he wants, but in a few months no one is going to care what she said. And any indictments that come out of the proceedings will simply be given the same old news cold shoulder.
An overused meme is best here: this is all Kabuki theater.
Oh, yes, even accidental spillage can be criminal. But spillage as the result of deliberate actions means hard, hard jail time.
And nobody can give us a rational explanation as to why Mitch McConnell is the leader of the GOP/Senate, or even why he is in Congress.
He didn’t just SLIP under the radar with his powermongering incompetence, he SLIMED his way under it. Even slugs and worms got out of his way. At least they have standards.

I think that was evident when NBC News went after Hillary several nights ago on the email server fiasco. I said so that very night after seeing it. I was astonished.
They can see the handwriting on the wall. They’re bailing now.

There were sexists at State.
It was Republicans - they pick on her and her husband.
It’ll cost 40 million to investigate and it’s about nothing.
It’s only about sex.
How could Hillary be expected to understand things like ‘servers’ or words like ‘classified’.
Hillary’s the smartest woman in the world... and waaaaay to smart to do something like this... so it didn’t5 happen.
The people who installed the system had mental problems and Bill and Hillary were ‘ministering to them’...
