Mountain House is also the name of a line of freeze-dried foods favored by preppers. Is that stuff made in Mountain House, California? If so, I would seriously question the motives of the people trying to turn off the water.

Actually, as far as I know, the order was handed down in order to protect the Delta Smelt. Typical central-planning type thinking.

People have called this little fish a bait fish. What I would propose is that Moonbeam pay some fishermen from various parts of the country to capture and breed some of these critters and sell them AS bait fish. You would have millions of them in no time as a productive industry began to flourish from coast to coast, and there would be no perceived need anymore to withhold all that water from farmers.

Your point is quite reasonable but the environmentalists are not reasonable at all. The issue is control of people and destroying farmland is one way to drive people away from areas envirowackos want to return to nature.

Wally Hickel gets the last laugh, as governor of Alaska he was ridiculed for suggesting supertanker's of Alaska water delivering to areas in crisis in Cali and Mexico. This water from our abundant rivers in the southern part of the state, would be cheap to process with little infrastructure needed.
