“Catholic Ping”

Mennonites are low church Anabaptist and about as far from Catholic as can possibly be. They are basically Amish with cars.

You missed the logical connection: Catholics are strongly opposed to abortion. This is a disaster potentially linked to the evil of abortion.

Hence the Catholic ping.
