but I still feel that there should be some wage laws to prevent abuse of the have not’s from those that have. Why?
No matter how low, a minimum wage will always cause minimally-skilled people who want (and need) a job to not have one.
As a general rule, employers will pay, and employees will accept, what they're worth. Trying to tinker with the market around the margins invariably ends up distorting it and creating more harm than good.
