Socialist Bernie Sanders DEMANDS $15 minimum wage – PAYS interns $12 an hour! LOL!

And in today’s edition of “look at this hypocritical liberal,” we have Bernie Sanders, the grump socialist, who demands that everyone in America pay their employees at least $15 no matter what their wages are actually worth in the free market. Now let’s see what he pays his interns!

From MRC-TV:

Included in the 62 million workers making under $15 hour are members of Bernie Sanders’ own staff. According to the senators’ website, Interns are paid only $12 an hour.

In [Bernie’s] bill’s summary, the first bullet point reads, “No one working full time should be in poverty. It is time to pay workers a living wage of at least $15 an hour.”

Socialists are always demanding other people to open their wallets to them. They might as well go door-to-door with a gun, acting as a "charity".

Color me astonished!

One of my daughter’s good college friends (now in early 30s) is constantly posting Bernie Sanders crap on Facebook. I like the girl and her family personally, but geez, the socialist crap on Facebook is so tiring.

Aren’t most internships unpaid positions? Seems like they used to be, anyway.

A number of years ago, the owner of a local barbecue joint was on the news calling for a minimum wage increase. He said, “I want to pay my guys more.” They then brought on one of his workers, and he said, “He’s a good man! He looks out for us and wants us to earn a better living.” Umm, guess no one told you boss man could pay you more RIGHT NOW. But, smart on his part; do nothing, come out smelling like a rose.

Ok, I have a solution that will satisfy everyone: McDonald’s fry cooks are now classified as unpaid interns.

IIRC ... that’s about $11 and 100¢ an hour more than HRC is paying her interns...

Just be glad it’s not your daughter posting Bernie Sanders’ deep thoughts. Wish I could say the same.

More and more its leaning towards the side of paid position. So it begs the question, if it is a paid position, does that mean is it still an internship?

Some talking head was on an interview about the minimum wage....he said:*There’s no way that anything my 16 y/o son does is worth $15./hour. Nothing.*

It was very, very funny.

My daughter is, as far as I can tell, more libertarian than anything else. But she’s not really a political animal and though she will discuss many things, she’s pretty reticent about US politics. I think the time she has spent in the 3rd world as well as much of Asia has made her somewhat cynical in a practical way. If that makes any sense.

The real minimum wage is $0.00.

Liberals forget that.

How many people working for minimum wage are actually trying to make a living, paying rent and utilities, wife and 2.4 kids?...

Normally it’s mostly teenagers working part time at fast food places. I’ve worked minimum wage jobs several times, but usually not trying to support a family, never been married. At worst rent and groceries. No it’s not easy...

On the flip side, Seattle is getting a good dose of $15 minimum, restaurants closing daily.

If minimum wage goes up, the employer has a couple of options.

1. Raise prices - Customers won’t like that, look for another source for what they need.

2. Cut back hours.

3. Cut back workforce.

3 is the most common choice.

Bottom line is most businesses have a set budget for payroll. When minimum goes up they won’t raise that, they’ll adjust in other ways to bring it back to the same percentage or dollar amount.

I’d love to see minimum wage a lot higher, that would be great. But it means a lot of people either lose their jobs or lose hours. Bringing them right back to where they were before. That or the price we pay for everything as consumers goes up that much more.

If I were working for minimum wage here in Texas now ($7.25) I wouldn’t be pushing too hard for a huge raise, $8 at best. That sounds a lot better than what I’d be making after I lost my job...

Just sayin...

Sanders paying less while demanding $15 is no surprise, he’s not the only one I’ve heard about, I can’t remember who right now, but I’ve heard of others too. Hillary probably doesn’t pay hers at all. If I know her she considers it a privilege to work in her majestic presence...that’s pay enough...

In City of Seattle our avowed Socialist Sawant paid her crusaders ten bucks and hour to collect petitions for 15 bucks an hour.

at the risk of being called a liberal I want a static minimum wage witch is tied to what ever is the maximum wage that is being paid to the president of the corporation and for small business it should be figured by how much the company makes in profit each year and how many employs the company supports. this would lead to less profitable endeavors having a lower minimum wage while anything that is highly profitable having to pay more......having a fixed minimum wage is extremely bad for the poor because periodically someone gets the bright idea to raise the minume wage thinking they are helping the poor. This is extremely bad for those that are not competitive enough to get better jobs. and anyone retired on social security. for the low paid wage earner over night what ever wage increase he has gotten if he has stayed with the job is wiped out because the employer cant afford to pass on those wage increases he has gotten . in the next 3-6 months inflation hits driving up the cost of food and housing because business have to pas on there costs to everyone else if they are going to survive as a business.

the liberals got to face the facts that raising a fixed minimum wage is bad.
