The only way I'd walk the streets of most cities I'd have to kit up like going on a combat patrol. I really enjoyed my time in Israel. Seeing young folks in civies with slung M-16's, Gallil's and Uzi's.
I remember seeing women walking on the beach with slung M-16's and a mag tucked into their bikini bottoms.
I'm getting old.

I spent 3 weeks in NYC in 1963, with a double barrel .38 Derringer in a boot holster.
I would have preferred a 12 gauge pumpgun.
