Not everyone is able to do that, nor is it realistic, as there is not enough land for every individual to live like that.

You are right! I was raised on a farm and don’t know anything else. We bought this farm over 30 years ago and would pay 4X now what we paid for it then. It’s been paid for for over 20 years and is irreplaceable. My only fear is that it will be really hard to keep it up and take care of it as we get older. My husband is almost 80 and I’m 60. Our only daughter lives 500 feet away on the farm but she is over 40 so none of us are kids anymore. I’m strong and in excellent health so as long as my daughter and I can take care of it we will stay here. I don’t know if I could survive living around other people because I never have.
