When the Supreme Court rules, Americans normally respond by increasing support for the decision. But a new Reuters/Ipsos poll shows gay marriage advocates have not sealed the deal with the American people. The poll received attention under the heading: “Over 60 percent of Republicans oppose court on gay marriage”.

My wife sent me these two verses....

Romans 1-18-32

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

Therefore, God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator — who is forever praised. Amen.

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents, they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

If the elite culture insisted on referring to dogs as cats it would not make it so. Marriage is a traditional union between a man and a woman. The ‘union’ between two members of the same sex is a pairiage.

The issue isn’t who’s against it, the issue is how many women will vote against a candidate who their opinion leaders tell them is “mean”.

Recent Supreme Court decisions dealing with marriage and healthcare, decisions which blatantly ignore the Constitution and Supreme Court case precedent imo, have at least helped patriots to wise up to the major problem that the Supreme Court is as corrupt as the other two branches of the federal government.

In fact, thanks in large part to the ill-conceived 17th Amendment, activist justices don’t have to be concerned about the Senate working with the House to remove Constitution-ignoring justices from the bench.

The 17th Amendment needs to disappear, along with corrupt senators and activist justices.

RE: : “Over 60 percent of Republicans oppose court on gay marriage”.

Yep, but that’s balanced out by democrats where the VAST MAJORITY support it.

What does the poll of ALL Americans (including all parties ) say?

Gay marriage is a fraud. in 7000 years of human civilization, it has never existed as a long-term, stand-alone surviving cultural institution - and never will.

Agree. Some things are so primal, even the coercive power of a too-powerful central government will not overcome for long.

I think that’s only partly true. It was pretty well institutionalized in ancient Greek society. At least that’s what the college history professor said.

Any freeper history experts care to put their two cents in on this?

It did exist, at certain points in history- mainly among people of elite or exceptional rank in certain societies. Privileged decadence, if you will.

Moreover, I doubt it was ever formalized in law, as we have done, and gay marriage certainly never existed as a cultural institution among common people, in common culture anywhere that I am aware of. If it did, we would see it surviving beyond limited places and points in history, wouldn't we?
