GOP Strategists Plot to Ban Donald Trump From Debates
Gateway Pundit ^ | July 23,2015 | Jim Hoft

One idea that came up was to urge three leading candidates — Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor; Mr. Walker; and Senator Marco Rubio of Florida — to band together and state that they would not participate in any debate in which Mr. Trump was present, using his refusal to rule out a third-party bid as a pretext for taking such a hard line.

The thinking, according to a Republican involved in the conversations, was that the lesser-funded prospects who have been eclipsed by Mr. Trump would follow suit, and the TV networks airing the debates would be forced to bar Mr. Trump in order to have a full complement of candidates.

Sounds like a great idea to me. Three establishment hacks not on the debate stage would be excellent!

Since the political strategists are the wizards of smart, maybe they have decided to throw the election to Hillary or who or whatever the Democrats run, rather than have Trump as the nominee.
What I think they are missing is, this will probably not only throw the 2016 election, but just might be the final nail in the Republican party’s coffin.
This is the kind of stuff they pulled in Mississippi in 2014. It worked there, but I think Trump has too high a profile and too large an ego to allow it to go unpunished. I would fully expect him to make a third party run on a new party ticket that he organizes and controls.

None of these politicians deserve our support.
They are all liars and thieves .

America needs to be led by warriors , not
by lawyers and politicians .

Yes, Trump is a real problem for the GOP.

He wants to talk about issues the Uniparty wants to bury.

The more they dump on Trump, the more determined I am to support him. I think a lot of folks feel that way. They are tired of being manipulated by both parties.

Ain’t no way in the world the GOPe kicks Trump from the “debates.” It would be political suicide.

Oh wait...

There are only two against the D.C. Cartel, Trump and Cruz.

“Someone threw out an idea and everyone rejected it.”

I didn’t see that in the article... where did you see it?

A good chance Trump will go this alone and fire the GOP. This could be the historic political revolt of our time.

If it reaches this point, I would have no issues whatsoever supporting Trump.

Forget ALL of the other candidates. Let’s just have a debate between Trump and Hillary Clinton.

I believe you have hit on one aspect of the open hate shown for Trump.

The GOP establishment would definitely rather have Hillary as president than a political outsider like Trump who is a loose canon on deck to them.

They know Hillary will operate within the accepted boundaries of the Uniparty system and that they will still get their share of the spoils.

An outsider like Trump who promises to upset the Washington DC Honeypot is a threat to the power and wealth they expect from the system.

Walker is becoming a bit of a disappointment sucking up or playing me-too with the skunks in the GOPe. I say that sparingly out of sensitivity to those that love him. I still like him a lot but his inner person needs to come out into the sunshine and soak up the rays. I would vote for Walker if he gets the nomination. I just don’t think he gets it this go-round. He’s 1st-string material though; no doubt about it.

Jebba needs to go away.

Schmubio needs to do some serious soul searching and come out swinging like a world class Tea Party contender a la Trump. He might redeem himself. Oh, and he should completely distance himself from Graham, McCain and anything to do with immigration.

Put that on a bill board with strobe lights attached.

I reject your hypothesis. Hillary’s unfavorable rating keeps going up. Trump with an excellent VP choice could get people across the political spectrum seeing a Trump presidency as a real good way to throw ALL the DC bums and their enablers out.

It is possible, but if the 'Beast gets the Dhimmi nomination, they will turn out enough of the gibsmedats to win. Romney was right about the 47% - though not much else.

I do, however, really enjoy the GOPe being made to panic. Their little country club has somehow or other allowed an interloper onto the property, and he's starting out by blowing up the gopher dens as a warm up to the clubhouse itself.

Uh, Cruz is a lawyer...and I don't think that he'd be a conventional President in any sense. We are still at least nominally a nation of laws, and you need someone who knows what's in the law and how to use it to restore our Republic.
