I will not vote for Yeb Bush Unser ANY circumstance.
best analogy yet.........
Just who is this Erickson that he should declare Trump WILL NOT BE THE NOMINEE, and why should I listen?
I will vote for the nominee. It will not be Donald Trump. Thats just the truth. And you should be prepared for that reality. But I would vote for him if something happened and he became the nominee.
I understand.
But I also take the words of one General George Smith Patton, Jr. very seriously: “The Perfect is the enemy of the Good.”
I will take anyone who can beat Hillary, period. That person can ONLY be the Republican nominee - no third party candidate has EVER won a Presidential election since prior to the War of Northern Aggression. Hillary is the Devil, and I will take a smaller evil to stop the HUGE evil that she is.
This country is a aircraft carrier racing toward the rocky shoreline. You can’t turn it on a dime, no matter how much you wish it could be done. First it has to slow down and begin the turning process, and continue it for a long time until all of the effort final achieves your goal of not crashing onto the rocks. The Leftists didn’t largely destroy this country in 2 terms of the Kenyan, it took many decades of coordinated and disciplined action by millions of them. We shall have to do the same.
The first rule of holes is to stop digging - that I equate with not electing another Democrat to the WH. After that, you can worry about how to get out of the hole.
I believe Erickson wants to be an ‘insider’ with politicos or even the principal owner of Fox News. He’s a Fox News contributor. So we get silly statements from him like this.
About 100%
I’m not looking for perfect, I’m looking for conservative
Trump is not “good”. Trump is not even within the vicinity of conservative. I’m not even sure they’ve met.
When they decided to put an income tax on the people, they didn't ease it in they put it on right away and it quickly went from a small percentage to 90%. When they decided to start Social Security they didn't ease it on to the populace, it was sold as voluntary and within a couple years it was mandatory. Same with Obama care. As soon as Obama was sage, it was rammed onto the populace.
When change happens, it must be quick and decisive. look at how quickly homosexuality went from being tolerated to mandatory celebrated, same with gender dysphoria.
We must eliminate the income tax, right away. Pull it off quick like a band-aid. Remove the horror that is Obama care like a Band-aid. No transition, simply remove the law and let the chips fall as they may. Cut the Federal Government to a level that will be in line with revenue that is generated without income taxes. Do not even replace the revenue simply eviscerate the Federal Expenditures that are destroying the country.
Do it all by Presidential Fiat, just like Obama. By the time the court case works it's way to the Supreme Court it will be too late as there will already be a new normal.
Same with the EPA, the Energy Department, The Education Department, The Department of Homeland Security. Do away with them DAY ONE. De-fund them and send the workers home, sell the buildings or tare them down and salt the Earth so they will never grow again. Threaten the MSM with loss of their FCC license and then defund the FCC.
Get rid of about 50% of the Federal Government right away and in a few years people ill be more than accepting of the fact that this is the new normal and Liberty will win out.
The Republic is already sunk, we need a dictator of our own to right the ship before it can be repaired.
I know that he’s not conservative - I’m very far from being his biggest fanboy. But he has the GOPe quaking in their boots, and the Dems are also scared. They know that he is shaking things up and that their club is no longer going to be the safe and cozy place that it has been.
I am sick to death of the GOPe. Why did we elect a majority in 2010, and enlarge it considerably in 2014, just to have a bunch of milquetoasts who bend over for Obama and the Dems EVERY TIME? Maybe Trump is how we toss these bastards out of power. Not every tool is ideally suited for every purpose, but if you don’t have the right tool then at least SOME tool will help.
Me, I’d like to see Cruz at the top of the ticket. Trump is making it safe for Ted to discuss immigration and other issues...albeit in a far more polished, politically-acceptable manner. Though Trump clearly isn’t conservative, he may be paving the way for one (whether on purpose or not, I don’t care, so long as he does). He is clearly hurting a lot of the go-along, get-along RINOs in the field, so that’s a net positive as far as I’m concerned.
You nailed it.
I’m not sure that I agree with you completely, though you make some good points.
First, WRT the income tax, it only went up so high so fast because of WW1. Had we not become involved, rates would have stayed low. Harding and Coolidge actually cut rates - 2 steps forward, 1 step back (from the collectivist POV).
This homosexuality crap couldn’t have been foisted on us at any time before the last couple of years - even Obama had to campaign on traditional marriage (though it was clear even then that he was lying his skinny ass off to us). The various departments you mentioned for destruction (and I agree with you that they must go) didn’t come in all at once, but over a period of decades. Unless you change the entire population very fast, then big changes have to either be incremental or brought on by a big crisis (like the Depression). Oh, and I am very well aware of manufactured crises - even before Rahm Emmanuel’s famous quote got out there. This is the problem with too much power in the hands of government, that they can manipulate us and have the power to follow through and make permanent policy changes that can’t be undone for decades or ever.
I like Erick Erickson but he’s off the wall on this one.
“I believe Erickson wants to be an insider with politicos or even the principal owner of Fox News”
He doesn’t have anywhere near that kind of money.
Trump is unlikely to be the Republican nominee, but his greatest gifts are:
* making conservative points that the whole public respects, like visiting with families who lost loved ones to illegal immigrants, AKA, killing Americans Americans don’t kill
* making Cruz look more moderate and not the one lone voice on the right, while most candidates are mush middle
* forcing many candidates to take a stand on things like Common Core, sanctuary cities, China’s one way free trade where they sell things here but make it hard for us to sell there
I mean he wants access to be able to stay in their ‘good graces’.
So I should support a candidate that ISN'T out for himself, but has proven ineffective against "The Cartel?"
lol...........thanks, already out of mind.
