San Francisco moved this week to try to cancel its sanctuary policy that protected an illegal immigrant murder suspect, but Congress pressed ahead nonetheless with legislation aimed at punishing the California city and any others who refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.

House Republicans set up a Thursday debate on a bill that would withhold federal law enforcement grants from jurisdictions that shield illegal immigrants from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), turning back Democrats’ pleas for more time and more hearings on the issue.

All sanctuary cities should lose all the funding they get form the government, also all the elected people should be arrested and locked up!

I read an article earlier that 3,000 murders have been committed in TX alone by illegals since 2008 and that’s just the ones that were previously fingerprinted.

The mayor and Bd of Supervisors should have been arrested
and tossed in jail... they were accessories to the Steinle murder.

And don't forget San Francisco Sheriff (and convicted wife-beater) Ross Mirkarimi. A scumbag who gets scummier everyday.

Lib/zit Mirkarimi came out w/ guns blazing--defending sanctuary city policies in no uncertain terms after the Steinle killing. Yet, when the creep sees an illegal felon he gets all soft and sentimental. Now, if was doing the job he's paid for on behalf of the safety of the city's citizens----he could have held the killer felon for spitting on the sidewalk---or some similar ordinance.

WIKI--Rostam Mirkarimi was born in Chicago to Nancy Kolman, a 19-year-old descended from Russian Jews, and Hamid Mirkarimi, an Iranian immigrant. His parents divorced when he was 5. Prior to being Sheriff, Ross Mirkarimi served on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, representing District 5 from 2005 to 2011.

Mirkarimi was elected sheriff in November 2011. He served from January to March 2012, at which time he was charged with domestic violence battery, child endangerment, and dissuading a witness in connection with a December 31, 2011 New Year's Eve altercation with his wife, Ileana.

MUG SHOT--- Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi

WIKI--Mayor Ed Lee suspended the Sheriff from office pending an ethics investigation. Sheriff Mirkarimi pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor false imprisonment.

LOCK-STEPPING LIB/ZITS According to the San Francisco city charter, removing a public official for misconduct requires the vote of nine of eleven supervisors; only seven supervisors voted to remove Mirkarimi from his office and he was reinstated in October 2012.

Mirkarimi is a co-founder of the Green Party of California. However, in March 2010, he became a Democrat.

Did I wake up in an alternate universe? This is satire, right?

Why are there “federal law enforcement grants” in the first place? If local law enforcement really needs these grants, they should be coming from the county or the state, not the feds.

I agree; however, there has been no political will because the liberal illegal mob was strong and would drown out any opposition. Unfortunately, it took someone to die to send the liberal mob running for cover. Now is the time for the Republicans to act! They need to be passing bills like this as well as other bills that protect Americans and our jobs!
