That nest egg is just worthless IOUs from one part of the federal government to another. That $$$ was spent as soon as it was collected. Any $$$ used from the 'trust' fund requires the treasury to borrow it.

Get rid of all the damn free loading “gimmedats” and the SS funds would rebound albeit it very slowly. Few people pay INTO it due to no jobs or not wanting to work. There are “Help Wanted” ads all over the place, that says a lot. The bastards are living off those of us who paid into the system and have no intentions of going to work.
