That’s nuts.
Here in PA a father can gift a gun to a son or daughter.....no background check needed. And that is not even talking about the realm of heirs.

43 replies and no one said “ ‘They can have my guns when they pry them from my cold, dead hands”

Why on earth doesn't anyone actually show the stupidity of the "too many guns" idea? Carrying a large number firearms is idiotic in most instances. Try carrying 1200 of them sometime, and seeing how much damage you can do. (Hint: none)
A person who is actually serious about hurting as many people as possible will carry as many loaded magazines as possible... far less weight, far less space, far easier to carry, far quicker to reload than to switch weapons. The number of firearms is virtually irrelevant in a mass-shooting situation. The "too many firearms" complaint is more likely to be an indicator of wealth-envy than "safety-concerned".

so what are we to conclude, if anything, from this guy having had a big firearms collection?
like...?
note: his heirs had better have a good inventory, lest their collection suffer considerable ‘shrinkage’ before they receive it
just saying
ps: by what right, if any, was this collection removed from the home, anyway? I don’t mean a “court order” — I mean a real reason... if any. I suspect.... there was none. We will see.

The money quote from the article:
"There were no signs of foul play. Police have found no evidence the man, who has not been identified, was involved in criminal activity."

Exactly, so why are they taking his guns?

Exactly, so why are they taking his guns? Well, he's dead... perhaps there's no next of kin around?

What do you call 1200 guns and 2 tons of ammo? A nice start.
A weekend in the desert?

As long as it is not 22 ammo. Doesn’t take many rounds of that to get to a ton.

They say to determine if they had been used in a crime. But the real reason is that the dead owner can’t object.
