Nuclear Arms Race: Saudi Source Reveals Plan for the Bomb

Head of state-affiliated Saudi TV channel reveals Saudi Arabia will 'seriously try to get' nuclear weapons following Iran deal.

While US President Barack Obama claimed he prevented a nuclear arms race in the Middle East when he presented the Iran deal last Tuesday, a key source in Saudi Arabia laid bare that claim by expressing the country's sense of urgency to acquire its own nuclear weapon.

Jamal Khashoggi, head of the Saudi Al Arab news channel that is owned by a prince of the ruling Saudi royal family, and who previously was the media aide to Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the US, Prince Turki al Faisal, revealed that Saudi Arabia may be going nuclear very soon.

"I think Saudi Arabia would seriously try to get the (nuclear) bomb if Iran did. It's just like India and Pakistan. The Pakistanis said for years they didn't want one, but when India got it, so did they," Khashoggi told Reuters on Tuesday.

The statement confirms the warnings by experts, who said that the Saudis will likely rush to obtain a nuclear weapon feeling threatened by the Iran nuclear deal, which critics warn will pave the Islamic regime's path to a nuclear arsenal. Sunni Saudi Arabia and Shi'ite Iran have long been key rivals vying for influence in the region.

If Saudi Arabia were to go for a nuclear bomb it would likely face international sanctions, but it remains unclear if the Saudi economy could actually be threatened given the global dependence on Saudi oil; Saudi Arabia is the leading oil exporter in the world.

They can literally buy it if they wanted to.

Israel might not stop them...yet.

People do NOT understand how dangerous Obama and Kerry and their bizarre leftist notions can be.

Folks keep in mind Kerry and Obama loved our defeat in Vietnam, Kerry worked for it, they don’t care that our allies are massacred, imprisoned, that hundreds of thousands fled in boats and many died.

And guess who needs their huge naval base at Cam Rahn Bay back? Lost.

The leftists never lose a wink over this, they are proud of it. They get people killed.

Yes they can easily cause Israel to be lost, America or other allies nuked. They will sleep soundly regardless.

Why not get onto the phoens and call your Senators and Representatives and read this article out loud to them:

Congress Must Ditch the Corker Bill and Treat the Iran Deal as Either a Treaty or Proposed Legislation to be Voted Up or Down

No doubt the Saudis will seek a nuclear weapon to counter the Iranians. They are immensely wealthy and may very well purchase weapons from Pakistan, France or Russia. The problem is that the Saudi royals are hopelessly decadent and that is an open simmering secret in Arabia. The money bought stability in Arabia is a thin veneer. Eventually the winds of the “Arab Spring “ will sweep away the royals and they will be replaced by the jihadists. The jihadists in addition to immense wealth will find nuclear nuclear weapons as part of their booty. Nuclear armed jihadists will be Obama’s legacy.

Don’t let word get out that the Saudi bomb facility is cleverly hidden beneath the Kaaba Mecca.

My understanding was they’d already bought them from Pakistan. They might be difficult to deliver as every intel group on the planet will use deadly force if they catch wind of the shipment. I doubt they can be fired from Pakistan as that would involve Pakistan committing a direct act of war against Iran. So, they must be on Saudi soil to be usable. But having the weapons and the means and will to use them are different things. In any case, the Saudi window of opportunity is closing rapidly and may already be closed. The Saudis are not only in a very bad position with no easy way out, but their current leader is said to be suffering early dementia. Just when they need robust and brilliant leadership...

And do NOT doubt their hatred of anyone in Israel who stands up to our mutual enemies.

Those of us who lived through Vietnam, the vitriol expressed against our South Vietnamese allies was pure racist in stories in places like the NYT.

Like Global Warming, it was a RELIGION with the left that our allies could not possibly win and must be defeated and die.

Do NOT underestimate the crazy hatred these people have for anyone who would support the United States. Name one country that devoutly supports us which they have stood up for.

They turned on Egypt before it was taken over by the MB and they turned against Egypt again as soon as it expelled the MB. They are extremely dangerous kooks.

Nuclear armed jihadists will be Obama’s legacy.

Exactly.

I don't know if that is bad or not. It will make the choice very simple not only for Israel, but the whole of the Western world. To die or to live. But to live means using terminal force, and to use it in such a way that the enemy is totally obliterated.

Iranian’s (Shiite) and Saudi’s (Sunni/Wahabi) are fighting proxy wars in both Syria and Yemen.

The Saudi’s are mounting a trade war, flooding the markets with oil.

Iran has forbidden it’s citizens from traveling to Saudi Arabia, visiting Mecca and performing the hadj. (No Saudi would dare visit Iran.)

That all fit the definition of a Cold War.

The most holy site for Shiites is Karbala, which is in Iraq. It was controlled by Sunni’s under Saddam, it’s now governed by a Shiite majority in southern Iraq.

[Go research the “The Battle (or Tragedy) at Karbala.” See what Sunni Arabs did to Mohammed’s grandson. Cliff notes: Sunni Arabs under Yazid (or Yazeed) killed Mohammed’s grandson and put his head on display in Damascus. They broke the bloodline of the prophet Mohammed. This is why Karbala is the holiest site for Shiite’s and why it will forever foster hate for Sunni’s.]

The most holy site for Sunni’s is Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

So...who’s site is holier? We might see one or both destroyed to find out.

Rumor is they already have it. From Pakistan. Money talks.

What rumor has *NOT* said is whether or not the nuclear armaments purchased are on Saudi soil, or Pakistani. I understand the latter, which makes the purchase more or less worthless on the face of it, since, as stated in the article, deadly force would be employed by nearly everyone to prevent those arms from being moved to Saudi territory.

Owning nuclear weapons you can't deploy when needed because they are on somebody else's turf, do exactly *WHAT* for your defense posture?

The facts on the ground strongly indicate to me that "The Magic Kingdom" is likely to fall soon, since they are menaced on all sides now...

Define everyone?
I do not see the US blowing up a Saudi tanker.

Under another administration I would concur. However, under *this* one? Wouldn't put money on it...

I am afraid we just opened Pandora’s box. The Saudis, Egypt , etc will buy a-bombs from Pakistan and /or India and all hell will break lose. Several European countries are already eying close cooperation with Russia and want to ensure Russia will take over as protectorate from the US, at the forefront is Germany where the majority of it’s citizens don’t trust us anymore.
This of course will destroy the Euro zone as well as Nato. sadly, I see a worldwide conflict of great proportions and we are very vulnerable because we decreased our military strength and continue eroding it. I just pray we will get over the next 18 months with this administration in power. Our Millenials will not fight, they will protest in the streets against America for bigger handouts while there is nothing to give anymore.
