Samuel Rutherford, the 17th century Scottish theologian, warned his country about such a tendency in a book entitled, "Lex Rex", which means, The Law is King. Governments, Rutherford argued, must be submissive to absolute law – divine law – or they will surely become a law unto themselves – Rex Lex, The King is the Law. The statist is committed to that latter vision, to empowering government, as a law unto itself, to determine the boundaries and conditions of the public weal for every area of life.

Statism is not a new political doctrine; the seeds of it can be found taking root even in the pages of Scripture, as we shall see. But statism has always proven an illusory dream and a certain path to national implosion. It is important that believers in Jesus Christ be able to recognize tendencies toward statism, and to resist them, for all forms of religious faith sit “atop the statist hit-list” as forms of resistance to the statist agenda which must be negated, if not neutered or eliminated all together.

Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority , the people rejoice : but when the wicked beareth rule , the people mourn.

Obama is king and they have to agree with whatever he says. He knows Boner will have a drink and start to cry.

It’s merely the next step. The left is expert at continuing to push the boundaries of their power.

The media will either ignore or support, and the American public will continue to slumber.

There is no fixing this. We are on the path to a socialist/communist takeover, and the resultant meltdown.

Keep your powder dry.

Obama could care less what these guys think - they're white. But Corker and Co. have no business huffing and puffing because they already baked this cake beforehand. If they had simply done the right thing, we wouldn't be at this point, but Washington pols are genetically incapable of doing the right thing (especially the Senate).

So they make a little noise to pacify the voters and then they just rubber stamp it.

Aren’t these all the same Senators that voted to surrender their power to approve treaties?

Now they don’t it so much?

My understanding is that Congress set this up so that, instead of requiring 67 votes to approve the deal it will take 67 votes to reject the deal. If Obama vetoes the rejection, then it takes 67 votes to override the veto.

There are no principled Democrats who will vote against ratification/veto. A few RINOs will vote for ratification as well. It is pure irony that President-Nobel-Peace-Prize will be responsible for the eventual incineration of potentially millions of people. I suspect his take will be, “Well that’s a lot less burden on the planet with them gone.”

Most democrats are lowlifes - they don't give a damn about anything beyond ‘black lives matter when blacks are thugs and criminals’...

That's it. Dems don't care about Israel.

O’Malley had to apologize for even daring to say. “ALL lives matter”... What a fool, To 'true believer' democrats ONLY black thugs matter. Democrats don't care about the weekly slaughter in Chicago - or the unending deaths in Detroit.

And they sure as hell don't care about Israel...

It's NOT bipartisan - it's a FEW Democrats - damn few - who care about Israel. Most dems would sell out to Arab money in a New York minute.

“It is inappropriate to commit the United States to meet certain international obligations without even knowing if Congress and the American people approve or disapprove of the Iran agreement,” Corker said. “During the review period, members on both sides of the aisle will evaluate the agreement carefully, press the administration for answers and then vote their conscience.”

After having themselves making it impossible to disapprove of the agreement.

Dolt!
