RE: lack of federal stats on ILLEGAL alien crime

Apparently GAO had to use the FBI Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS) to unearth data from which criminal statistics for ILLEGAL aliens could be extracted -- crime data routinely available in FBI UCR, and NIBRS for all others. And apparently it was done in response to the demand of Congress to find data.
