The only way to avoid this then is to never talk to anyone because you fear that they will misquote you and/or twist what you said, or lie by omission.
Then they win.
With all due respect, it has nothing to do with "avoiding the media."
It's all about controlling the message. It's about rejecting the liberal narrative.
This question is by design was asked to make it appear that Walker hates gays and Republicans hates gays by association. What Walker should have said is "This is not a pertinent issue for me. I am more concerned about the President's disastrous Iranian agreement and the ongoing threat of Islamic terrorism here at home."
