I am *not* defending McCain’s war record. I am just appalled at the tastelessness and lack of decency and common sense required of either Franklin or Trump to gratuitously denigrate it.

Did you know that John eFfing Kerry earned three Purple Hearts in Vietnam?

One of which was earned because the Pentagon didn't have a Heart medal the color of rice.

I am tired of the polite gentlemen "colleagues" in Congress putting their own "collegiality" ahead of the welfare and explicit desires of the people who elected them.

I am all for impoliteness if it puts an end to it.

I am tired of living in the age of the loud mouth vacuous blowhard, the Age of Schumer, the Age of Clinton and would hate to see the triumph of the Age of Obama.

Yet you want the status quo. A little cognitive dissonance going on there.

“crippling back injury”

I might buy that if I didn’t have it on good authority that Franken has no spine! :o)

No, I share many of Mr. Trump’s concerns. I do not see him as an articulate or skillful advocate, and his brusqueness plays into the Democrats hands. His gratuitous snipe at McCain’s war record (and that is the only fair way to characterize it) can only cause dissension in our own ranks. Trump needs to go away and keep quiet.

... explain why so many Medals of Honor are awarded posthumously to men who died trying to save a wounded buddy or trying to prevent a position being captured.

Medals of honor and valor commemorate sacrifice and courage, but that is not of necessity heroism. When words no longer mean things, then Bruce Jenner's mental illness is labeled heroic. Those who held the line to the very end deserve our gratitude and respect, but that does not make them heroes, role-models perhaps, but not necessarily heroes. Those who sacrificed their lives at Normandy were, in my book, heroes because by their personal sacrifice the mission and war were won. Those who died at Gettysburg for the south were not heroes because their sacrifice gained nothing. They may have been bold, courageous and men of valor, but thy do not get the label hero just for dying on the battlefield. Mc Cain may have been courageous and honorable in his service, but that and getting captured do not earn the title of hero.

The only dissenters will be McQueeg apologists who are RINOs anyway.

So why such a contrast in reactions to Al Franken and Donald Trump?

Franken is a commie, Trump is an American, the MSM are commies.

Pat Caddell called it.

Pat Caddell slams the media: They have become an “enemy of the people” Sept. 29, 2012(video 26:00)

The reason why no one gave a hoot when Franken said it is because the media has an agenda here..remember in 2008 how the media licked McCain’s fanny and called it ice cream..because they KNEW McCain was NO threat to Obama, but the second McCain became the nominee, BAM they attacked him left and right..they see Trump as the biggest threat to Hillary Clinton, the second Trump is gone they will push whatever progressive Republican they consider the least threat to Clinton

“Well Al Franken did it so that makes it ok” is not a ringing endorsement.

McQueeg is a RINO. He has betrayed us over and over again.

And yet you're worried about his "feelings."

Makes one wonder.

Conservatives don’t like Stuart Smalley either.

Since you’re cherry-picking, go ahead and tell me this guy wasn’t a hero.

I’m not worried about his feelings at all. Just pointing out that “Al Franken said it” isn’t something a conservative should trumpet as a selling point.

Being willing does not make you a hero. Not every uniformed service member is a hero. Same for cops, firefighters, etc. if willingness is the criteria for heroship then who isn’t a hero?

I know any service people who enlisted for no other reason than a paycheck and college benefits. They served 3 years and for out. Some of them never left our state except for basic. Are they Heros?

Honestly, I don’t care whether Trump wins or not.

I am happy that he’s staking out the positions he is, and calling out the weak.

Perry is toast for sticking up for McAmnesty,

Jindal too.

Better to just sit back and let McAmnesty and Trump have at it and see how it plays out.

Trump is a very intelligent guy, and very well educated. Better educated and more intelligent than McAmnesty. McAmnesty would do well to just STFU before Trump eats his lunch.

I do think that Cruz and Trump do have a mutual pact going on. Trump is out there talking generating a position and a void for Cruz to fill, and taking the arrows that those positions might create.. Cruz is sitting back and not saying much but doing the retail politics end.
