Admit it. If a democrat had said that, or a RINO, everyone here would be outraged.
Men know that while they don’t erase an error, flowers brighten the day of the recipient. Wait a few more days, and send her flowers with a short polite note about your still feeling terrible about your gaff.
That is all you can do. If you fixate on it after that followup kindness, you have to ask yourself if you are being vane about making an error and make yourself accept that you will make errors in life. It is the human side of all of us and we place undue burdens on ourselves if we don’t accept it.

This was a really dumb remark. He should have just stopped and thought about it for a minute. Had he done so, his words may have been less incendiary.
Worse yet, this was said after 4 defenseless Marines and a Navy man were killed.
Tie it all together and Trump just handed his opponents in the Media, Democrats and Republicans, enough ammunition to do him in.

No, I won’t call McCain a Benedict Arnold because if you really think about what Arnold did you realize just how bad it was. Arnold was a hero at Saratoga, there is no doubt. It was after that that he turned. The bottom line with him is he tried to give or sell his combat command (West Point, then a fort on the Hudson River) to THE ENEMY for rank and riches.
That is TRAITORIOUS.
McCain is and was an idiot, wrong on his politics, and harmful to the world and the USA—case in point, selling arms and supporting the proto-ISIS in Syria—but I think he’s full of himself and doesn’t realize how over his head he is.
And the truth be told, a lot of people here supported him in 2008 versus Obama. Sarah had everything to do with that, but if I brought up this thread from, say Sunday, November 2nd, 2008, what do you suppose folks here was saying about McCain then?
I certainly was praising him and encouraging everyone to vote for him. I’m not ashamed for opposing Obama, but sure wish McCain was not the opposition then.

I think Trump was making a really dumb Yukyuk joke. Cause come on, HERO...McCain didn’t save any fellow soldiers. He didn’t kill any enemy or stop an enemy attack. He wrecked the plane and was captured.
SoT rump kind of lamely was trying to point that out. MCCAIN did graduate the very bottom of his class. He did wreck a couple of airplanes. Come on! T rump is finally bringing this thing we’ve all known public.
They hate the truth and as T rump is successfully doing, let’s not forget that McCain has done nothing for veterans.
This so called gaffe of Trump might backfire on the joyous media.
NO, Pat, he did not WRECK the plane. The plane was shot down by a North Vietnamese missile.
I agree with your comments in #97 but that is supposedly not what Trump said. His precise words are reported by Sharyl Attkisson in #89. What Trump meant/said was that he honors all veterans, including those who were or were not captured. That all veterans are heroes in his book, so that McCain is not entitled to any more special hero-hood just because he was a POW.
As a fellow veteran, I happen to believe that POWs do deserve a special hero status, and of course we honor them as such in our various veterans’ Posts. However, I’d rather salute a true hero POW like MOH awardee Gen. Bud Day, one of the Swiftboat Veterans For Truth and a POW, who scuttled Kerry, than a veteran-problems-ignoring weasel and conservative-hater like McCain.
I assume we’re on the same page.
I also doubt if The Donald will win the nomination, but he has raised the debate and will force other candidates to address the real issues.
I stand corrected.
He still has done nothing for veterans and calls us wacko birds and other derogatory names.
It’s a matter of....is the love not lost by the Repub base for McCain enough to survive the media assault. I think Trump will survive, based on what i saw of that interview of T rump vs Raddick.

Good for them. The media will let Obama slide on outright lies, but jump all over someone like the donald who like it or not speaks his mind.
I really do not want argue with you for I have very low regard for John McCain and the horrible campaign he ran against Obama, especially with McCain knowing that Obama had worshipped for twenty years in the Church and at the feet of Black Racist, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, an avid America hater & bigot!!! But McCain really set me off when he called the 15,000 people that attended the Trump rally in Phoenix last week!!! IMHO, McCain is a war hero....but he is a weak sister politician....all words and little action!!! We have too many McCains in our leadership ranks. Truth be known......America is declining rapidly...and least Trump & Cruz are trying to pull off a “Paul Revere”....Obama, Clinton & the likes of McCain are not!!! And...yes I admit that Trump said what you said he said....but he also said a lot more that put things in context!!! Let agree to disagree!!!

So true, and many who are not here today who died in support of freedom for our country would be ashamed of how he has not been a more forceful presence for Veterans.
In that regard Trump is moving the battle in the longer war to the right front.
