Audy Murphy was a war hero. Chris Kyle was a war hero. Carlos Hathcock was a war hero. Chuck Mawhinney was a war hero. With all due respect, John McCain was a POW.
He served, he is a hero. Very dangerous ground injecting politics into this. His capture and torture by the Vietnamese is only a part of his military record. It should be enough to end any discussion. I haven’t found and listened to the original video or audio clip of Trump’s comment but this seems to suggest it was taken out of context.
Some of McCain harshest critics were fellow POW.
I think McCain didn’t get indited for Keating because he was a POW, and nobody wanted him to serve jail time after being a POW.
McCain ran a despicable primary campaign last time he ran for Senate certainly not what one would expect from an officer.
Arizona has one of the worst illegal alien problems ask Sheriff Joe if McCain’s pro amnesty campaign hurts his state.
Thank you. I’m tired of the word “hero” being thrown around and cheapened to the point where it becomes synonymous with “service”. Service is doing your duty, heroic is a lot more than that.
AMEN, to all of your examples given!
McLame is a RINO and a wannabe democRAT. His accomplishments in life and the Senate have been few. Besides being last in his class at Annapolis, he dumped his first wife after returning from Vietnam because she had been disfigured in an auto accident and pursued a younger, rich, socialite to remarry. He was a carpetbagger in running for office in Arizona, sullied his reputation for honesty in the Keating Five affair and has done nothing since to justify his notoriety with the media. And he was the worst, God-awful presidential candidate in my lifetime.
He has ridden his fame for being a Vietnam War POW for as long he can and now he's running on fumes. I didn't vote for him the last three elections when I lived in Arizona because of his willingness to get in bed with the democRATS and act like one of them. Arizona voters need to put him out to pasture where he belongs, in the next election.
Again, Trump may have been intemperate in his remarks about McLame, but he was not wrong about him not being a hero.
