Any career military guy who unbans on-base guns becomes the goat if some serviceman unloads on his peers, because the media, with its death-grip on the megaphone, will make him the goat. That Nidal Hasan managed to kill a bunch of people on his base despite the gun ban won't matter a whit to the media's dishonest ideologues. This is why the pols have to lead on this. If the public objects, they will make their wishes known at the polls.
Yes. If you take a look at the persons graduating from boot camp in recent years, you will find that there are quite a few persons who grew up as Muslim. Are they Christian converts now? Ahh. Who knows.
I am not opposed to military personnel carrying guns when off base or when training on base. But I am not interested in a bunch of soldiers, Marines, sailors, etc. playing with their guns in the barracks. No way.
Recruiters live off base. They are in towns across America. I have no problem with them carrying firearms. It won’t help if they are caught unaware. However, it sure might help in other ways.
