That reminds me.

“Boxing Helena”

From IMDb: “A surgeon becomes obsessed with the seductive woman he once had an affair with. Refusing to accept that she has moved on, he amputates her limbs and holds her captive in his mansion.”

Not a particularly interesting movie, though.

I was in New Haven on business about 15 years ago. Just as the sun was rising I went down to the lobby of the hotel to go out for a casual run. As I was walking past the front desk the clerk quite candidly told me I did not want to do that. The hotel was a couple blocks from Yale.

“New Haven. On the edge of New York. Tony Sopranoland.”

Nah . . . I think the NY operation mainly goes only to greater Bridgeport. There are people who take the train to NYC from New Haven, but it is still a nearly two hour ride on Metro North, with stops at places like Stratford and Greens Farm.

That said, New Haven has its own operation. I don't know if it is linked to the RI mob or not. I do understand that Rosa of Wooster Square DeLauro has her connections to it, while being a commie at the same time.

I taught a couple of semesters for a Hartford based college, a few blocks from Yale....the whole experience was very unnerving.....getting to and from the campus. Even though it paid well, I quit ...couldn’t take the stress of the drive through some pretty awful ‘hoods.

What boggles is that Yale tuition is now $63,250/yr.......who would spend that much, if you can’t leave campus and be safe?

Poor New Haven ain’t what it used to be. Sad.

New Haven Pizza: Best in the universe. Sally's, best of all, but also Pepe's, The Spot, Palm Beach, Modern, St. John and an increasing number of very good second tier imitators.

Ronald Reagan referred Sally's while Clinton preferred Pepe's. Tiebreaker goes to Frank Sinatra who, when appearing in New York, regularly sent his driver to Sally's 75 miles from NYC to get his pizza.

Mangia!
