Last year, radical Muslim Nidal Hasan murdered 13 unarmed American soldiers and wounded 30 others.
Thank you, George H.W. Bush!
Yesterday, radical Muslim Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez murdered four unarmed American soldiers.
Thank you, George H.W. Bush!
Yes, it former President Bush whom we must thank for this, for it was he who put into place a regulation stating that American soldiers off the frontlines, for the most part, must be unarmed. (Clinton perpetuated it, but Bush started it.) That makes them sitting ducks for a single radical Muslim with a gun, who can casually go and shoot one soldier at a time, knowing they can't fire back.

We put some restrictions on our behavior to avoid harming others. Put on too many and more people start getting harmed.
Ever see any on duty? How about NCOs and Officers?
I think at a minimum the duty officer and assistant duty officer should be armed.
On duty, no problem. I was also armed in numerous positions while on duty. Guards, security troops are still armed. When I go on base in about an hour, the airmen (2 or more) at the gate will have both sidearms and rifles and will check my ID. They are security personnel.
Individual duty stations on base should allow for arming of those working there. Sidearms or other weapons are not wise in many close-in working situations but at least some should be armed.
Where are their mags?
I would not object to NCOs, petty officers and officers being armed while on duty or armed with a personal firearm when not on duty.
my dad recalls being on sentry duty in bremerhaven in the days immediately after the end of ww2 with an empty rifle.
That seems to have changed, at least at the Offutt AFB. Haven’t seen the civilian guards in a while and the military security at the gates are well armed.
As for the civilian guards, they seemed more than professional and in an incident a couple of years ago a civilian being chased by local police tried to crash one of the gates and was killed by the civilian guard. Many of them were formerly military security.
The United States Military(primarily Army) right after WW II was inundated by “Leadership” like “Omar Bradley” and “Marc Clark” and that ilk and was beginning the “purge” of REAL leaders like Patton. Can’t have soldiers ARMED now CAN we?
The 2 that were on the Offutt AFB, NE “Flag” Gate this morning has NO arm of ANY type and BARELY looked at my CAC Card and waved me through the gate.
You are close. Since Reagan, they are all UN supporting globalists. Including GW Bush. So was Jimmy Carter. It is been going on a long time.
We won’t get serious in this country until the Muslims start getting the body count they have in Israel.
That was not my experience at that gate yesterday. They were fully armed at the clinic entry Tuesday. I’ll check it out in a half hour when I go to the clinic. Every time I enter they check and scan my card, observing their verification readout on the scanner.
“Spoken by YET ANOTHER person with a PEACETIME MINDSET!”
Does your Mother know you play with her computer?
Did you actually read his post?
Offutt’s Gates security wise are “Hot and Cold”. Sometimes you get a FULLY Armed and “ready” Airman at the Gate and other times you get a couple of kinda-bored Aimen(or Women)in nothing but an Air Force “BDU” Uniform(no arms of ANY kind).

Thanks. It goes back much farther than that.
The Army and Navy for centuries generally kept the troops unarmed and/or without ammo mostly because they were worried about mutiny. Weapons or ammo were handed out immediately before combat.
This has been going on way before 1989; bottom line officers/ senior NCOs have very low view of the junior enslisted soldiers and marines under their authority. Was like this when I was in, and is like this today based on conversations with current officers/NCOs.

The friend I mentioned in post 32, above, also said that while he was on duty he kept the loaded clip in his pocket, not in the weapon. There had apparently been incidents (not involving him) in which drunken soldiers had tried to wrestle loaded weapons from duty officers.
Consider the possibility that the attacker might not have chosen the recruiting office at all if he knew the personnel inside were armed in the typical fashion. I am not saying it's would have assuredly kept it from happening, only that it might be considered a deterrent at that level.
