I just can’t believe that half of this country is supporting Hillary.

And when you ask those Hillary supporters why? All you get is a mountain of platitudes.

It really makes me lose all hope.

As it does most people who think for themselves.

I like his response yesterday when the Hitlery made the mistake to bash him again:

“Failing candidate Hillary Clinton, who is desperately trying to hold on to her lead in the democratic primary against Bernie Sanders, is knowingly putting out lies about my stance on illegal immigration. I said “Mexico is sending”— I’m not knocking immigration or immigrants, but rather am very critical of the country of Mexico for sending us people that they don’t want. Likewise I am very critical of illegal immigration and the tremendous problems including crime, which it causes.

She is desperate, she is sad, and she is obviously very nervous when she has to revert to issues that have already been settled given the absolute accuracy of my statement. She speaks about “my tone” and that’s the problem with our country’s leaders. They are more worried about tone than results! It’s not about being nice— it’s about being competent.

Hillary should spend more time producing her illegally hidden emails and less time trying to obfuscate a statement by me that is totally clear and obviously very much accepted by the public as true. I am honored, however, that she is attacking me, instead of Jeb Bush. Obviously she knows that JEB is no longer her real competition. The last person she wants to face is Donald Trump.”

Absolutely not even close to the same thing. Reagan was a serious, thoughtful candidate. He was NOT a clown. That’s like using a Dewy v. Truman scenario. Utterly false equivalence.

If Trump is nominated (won’t be) I’d be stunned if he took Utah.

ROTFLMAO!!!!

The Weekly Standard should change their name to “The Weak Knee Standard”

The Establishment Republicans FEAR TRUMP so bad they are now trying to use FEAR POLITICS in order to scare people not to support Trump. How pathetic!

Trump would SPANK Hillary Clinton. He certainly will win the South, most of the Mid West, probably split the North East including winning New York. Most likely would win California too.

Finally he would get the majority of the Union vote too. Hillary pushing the Establishment nonsense that is dissolving the United States will not sale.

For the record people CANNOT stand Hillary. Their is NO WAY they prefer a an old tired worn out criminal like Hillary over Trump.

This is nothing but Wishful thinking from the Weekly Standard.

Yup, the media is practically a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dem Party, not mention the unions, the schools, the universities, Hollyweird, and illegal immigration continues to supply an endless stream of government dependents and voters for the Democrat Party. We go into battle completely screwed on all sides.

Exactly.

The liberals and the GOP-e with trashing Reagan as a B-list actor and all other sorts of the similar type nonsense back then. Were you even alive and paying attention back then?

Jeb is so flat faced now I can't imagine he can get back up...it's almost sad really. He simply has no “Presence”.

i don’t know of 1 ordinary person, outside the media/politicians, I see every day that will vote for Jeb Bush. NO ONE likes him except the some in the media and some in Washington politics. The rest of the country has no desire to see a “Bush vs. Clinton” race.

It’s not at all surprising Jeb’s tanked...the guy didn’t want to do this in the first place....and he still doesn’t. He’s not even remotely Presidential material...every other candidate running surpasses him 2 to 1 and then some more.

Imagine the debate between Hillary and Trump? It would be great TV. After that—I think the poll numbers might change.

Who’s talking about Bush? Jester Jeb is not even on my radar. I’m a constructionist conservative. That is why Trumps loud mouth grandstanding does not impress me. We have had an immigration problem since the 1960’s, Trump had the means to shout about this a long time ago. As recent as March 2015 Trump promotes “comprehensive immigration reform “.

United States presidential election, 1980[edit]

1980[2]
Month Ronald Reagan (R) % Jimmy Carter (D) % John B. Anderson (I) %
December 1979/January 1980 33% 62%
February/March 31% 60%
33% 58%
34% 40% 21%
April/May 34% 41% 18%
32% 38% 21%
32% 40% 21%
June/July 32% 39% 21%
33% 35% 24%
37% 32% 22%
37% 34% 21%
August/September 45% 29% 14%
38% 39% 13%
39% 39% 14%
October/November 44% 40% 9%
45% 39% 9%
47% 44% 8%
Actual result 51% 41% 7%
Difference between actual result and final poll +4% -3% -1%

Incumbent President Jimmy Carter initially had a huge lead in the polls, due to the rally-around-the flag effect of the Iranian hostage crisis and the perceived extremism of Reagan. The continuing hostage crisis and the poor economy hurt Carter, and the prospect John B. Anderson running as an independent appealed to around 20% of Americans who saw Carter as a lesser evil to Reagan. As a result, Anderson took a third of Carter's support in the spring, but did not seem to hurt Reagan, despite Anderson being a Republican. Carter would never recover this loss of support, while Reagan would end up peeling around two-thirds of initial Anderson voters. This race remained close until near the end, when Reagan asked Americans if they were better off than they were four years ago. Afterwards Reagan managed to win a huge landslide victory in the general election.[15]

51 to 34? And how will Hillary pick up those last percent? So she starts at 51 and can only go down as she is called out.

I’m for Cruz, but come on. Even Trump will be close or beating Hildebeast once the fur flies.

That's who the GOPe at the Weekly Standard wants.

We have open borders thanks to the Administration.

I'm sorry but we need someone pushing conservative ideas like the rule of law. We are about to lose this country. The ONLY ONE doing that now is Trump and talk radio.

Continuing the weak political correct response has led us to this point of collapse.

Sorry not sold on Walker if he is your man. First, he is for open borders and rigid trade. Second, he has not charismatic. He puts me to sleep when he talks. Finally, he would lost to Hillary.

I like Cruz, but he's barely on the radar in all polls except Free Republic.

One problem with the flip-flop issue: ONLY in Trump's hands is it an advantage with ordinary voters, because he can say, "Yeah, I supported X because I thought it might be good/because I hoped Obama would be a good president/because I thought Hillary would do well ad SecState. They have been disasters."

NO ONE will ever ask "Why did you think that in the first place?"

Voters will say, "Yeah, I thought that too."

It's quite brilliant. Conservatives want the "I told you so! Admit your mistake," whereas Trump's position is "I'm like you. They fooled me." No other candidate, including my favorite Cruz, can say that. Not surprisingly, Cruz met AGAIN with Trump in NYC yesterday.

Strongly disagree. The media is desperate NOT to talk about illegals and Trump is pushing it down their throat.
