Obama insists deal with Tehran will work as he promises to veto any legislation to stop it
The president spoke from the White House Tuesday morning on the historic deal struck with Iran to suspend the country's nuclear weapons program
He urged Congress to approve the deal, while threatening to veto any bill that would stop the agreement from being put in place
President Obama urged Congress to approve a historic nuclear weapons deal struck with Iran this week, threatening to veto any such legislation that would stop the agreement from going through.
Obama spoke from the White House Tuesday morning after the deal was announced.
Addressing skeptics of the agreement, Obama said, 'This deal is not built on trust. It is built on verification.'
He said the nuclear agreement ensures that Iran 'will not develop a nuclear weapon' by cutting off every path to building one.
'This deal demonstrates that American diplomacy can bring real and meaningful change,' the president said.
As the agreement was being reached, the Obama administration was criticized by many for negotiating with a country that has been a sworn enemy of the U.S. for decades.
But on Tuesday, President Obama said that 'you don't make deals like this with your friends'.
He explained that this deal will perhaps help a future president from having to make the decision on whether to stop Iran from securing a nuclear weapon by force and that without the deal, there is a greater chance of more war in the Middle East.
'We give nothing up by testing whether this problem can be solved peacefully,' Mr Obama said.

This is why the deal with Iran is so important to Caesar Zero. It lends imprimatur internationally to use the U.S. Military to prevent the inevitable action from Israel to prevent development of the bomb. This will happen sooner than anyone will predict because what is presented on the surface is seldom what actually is. I’d expect back-channel agreements to not just allow nukes but to facilitate them, and once Iran has them, one will go to Tel Aviv and one to Rome in order to fulfill prophecy.
The U.S. stands a better chance today of conflict with Israel than Iran. This is beyond bad policy. This is Satanic. God help the Middle East, and all of us.
Notice the wording. He didn't say that Iran wouldn't *build* a bomb. The development phase is probably complete.

Uh... wasn’t my health insurance premium supposed to decrease by $2,500. Maybe before taking on something as serious as islamic extremists becoming a nuclear power, he could direct the FBI, CIA, DHS, etc. to help him find something he’s been missing since at least 2008. A clue.

He has so weakened the military by reduction of experienced leading officers (that did not kow-tow to his wishes) and forcing the acceptance of LGBT’s into positions in the military.
He has weakened our country’s work force by forcing elimination of full-time employment...Created nothing but part-time low income jobs.
He has significantly raised the welfare handouts to the inept, lazy people in this country at the cost to the over charged taxpayers of the country.

TRUMP needs to get on TV tonight and address the USA and explain the fundamentals of what a deal is.....AND WHAT A PRESIDENT TRUMP DEAL WOULD BE.
Obama will go down in History as the President who continually lied. He is a chronic prevaricator. The man has a psychological disorder, IMO.
A nuclear arms race in the Middle East and in all likelihood, a nuclear war in the not-too-distant future. Iran is very close to getting an ICBM, and with a little help from Pakistan and North Korea, they can fabricate a warhead small enough to fit on top of the rocket.
At that point—or even before—we detect tunneling at a suspected Iranian test site, followed by the installation about the time Iran announces a successful test of a of monitoring equipment and other required hardware. Then, the USGS detects a seismic event consistent with a nuclear test. A few hours later, a WC-135 Constant Phoenix aircraft detects aerial radiation and dust from the blast—nuclear weapon. By that time, the Saudis have their own nukes, as do the Emirates, Kuwait and Qatar, plus delivery platforms.
Not long after that, Iran decides to go after Israel, or the Israelis pre-emptively attack Iran. It ends in a nuclear exchange and millions die. Thousands of U.S. military personnel are caught in the middle, and Iran will likely target them as well.
That’s when the 3 am call reaches the White House, and the next President is left with the disaster unleashed by Barry. Of course, Obama won’t be worried—he’ll be “retired” to his beach-front mansion in Hawaii, just waiting to jump in front of the camera and blame his successor for screwing everything up.
Short answer to your question: What does the U.S. get out of the deal? A world of trouble (at best); a nuclear holocaust at worst, with millions dead.
Currently, the only organization preventing this nightmare is the Israeli Air Force—and there’s no guarantee they can sufficiently blunt Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
What about the $100 billion in cash and unfreezing Iranian assets? Doesn't that count?
