RE: I don’t get it, what did he do?????

He violated a law, which in my opinion is itself a violation of the First Amendment.

D’Souza was indicted on charges of making illegal political contributions to a 2012 United States Senate campaign.

On May 20, 2014, D’Souza pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York to a charge of using “straw donors” to make illegal political campaign donations.

You of course are aware that no matter how much you personally support a candidate for office, you are LIMITED by law from donating more than a certain amount to that person’s campaign.

D’Souza tried to go around it by asking others to donate on her behalf with the understanding that he would reimburse them for their efforts. That of course is illegal under the law.

He didn't give $20,000 to the Clinton Foundation, he gave it to Republican Senate candidate Wendy Long instead. Long was running against the Clinton's handpicked Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand.

He admitted getting friends to “contribute” to a candidate, then he reimbursed them, knowingly violating campaign laws that restrict how much an individual can give.
