First the racist of Memphis have to get family permission to move the graves, they can go to Chancery Court. IF the family refuses. Which knowing TWICE convicted criminal Myron Lowery that is the route they will go as they know the family will say HELL NO.
Then they have to get past this LAW signed by Bill Haslam, Effective as of April 1, 2013
called the “Tennessee Heritage Protection Act”
NO military memorials can be removed
including those from the ‘War Between the States’ !
http://www.tn.gov/sos/acts/108/pub/pc0075.pdf
Then they have to get past the National Historical Registry, as the statute is on their list.
Good research, and this should be fought at every turn legally. Ultimately if they actually decide to move it, it should be the site of a million patriot sit it.
This is some very strange crap happening in America when monuments start getting torn down.
This is USSR in the 1920s stuff.
This is classic activity of people who would kill you if they could get away with it. Be prepared.
Your words and linked state statute—protecting such memorials—are reassuring. Sadly, the prevailing local attitude may force the Governor’s hand. I can imagine this issue will end up in the courts or the legislature. The legal process might last long enough to attract the rabble to other shiny objects.
