Anything is possible. While watching the speech, I would periodically check the number of youtube viewers. In addition to those who crammed the venue, there were over 14,000 watching it live on you tube. Quite impressive!
I thought it was a great speech.
I liked the solution that Trump gave on how to keep the Ford plant in the U.S. I also liked his trade deficit solution with Japan. The guy’s got some good ideas.
But he's done and said too many sketchy things in the past for me to consider supporting him. He's first and foremost a self promoter.
Anyway time will tell.
I was one . Only problem I have with Trump is his lumping in Japan with China and Mexico re: trade . Make something they want/need and they will buy nowadays . This is not 1980 . They buy PLENTY of made in China goods . They are not going to buy Chevrolet .Hell - a lot of Americans won’t buy a GM product . Lots of Harleys over here , for example . Costcos , too .
The thing with Donald, were he to win, he would make his Presidency a success because it is not in his playbook to fail. I liked many of the ideas I heard today.
One advantage he has is he will not be swayed by lobbyist nor bullied by Washington bureaucrats.
He’s for real. It’s real passion, not a put-on.
Make something Japan needs & wants and they will buy . They do buy a great deal of our debt lol !
Don’t know who I like ATM...but he said some good things. Even his security detail behind him was cracking some grins.
I loved when he said he would tell Ford, ‘Congratulations on your new plant in Mexico, now we’re going to charge you 35% tariff on every car and truck you bring into the U.S.’
I know he couldn’t unilaterally do this but for too long we’ve let the media run elections, tell us what we want, what we can and can’t do. Perfect example, the old ‘people want a Congress that works together’ crap. Or Trump wouldn’t make a good President because he’s not willing to compromise. Maybe, maybe not but I hope the people get to choose this time no matter who it is.
Trade deficit with Germany is almost as large as with Japan . How come Trump doesn’t lump them in with China and Mexico ? Canada either ? Hmmm.....

Donald Trump would have been the last person I would have considered voting for.

As the R nominee in a 2-way race, probably yes.
As a third party candidate, very unlikely.
