I noticed it...and I also noticed he made the comment after committing to ending Obamacare and speaking of bringing competition in the private insurance by dropping barriers to insurance being offered across state lines.

The impression I got from his next remark was that he was referring to what used to be known as the deserving poor. Not a comittment to wholescale socialism but rather finding a method to bring assistance to those that truly need it.

He doesn’t strike me as the type to do something for someone who is capable of doing it for himself.

The deadbeats among us have become quite adept at playing the system. They will play it under a Trump administration just as they play it now. If there were a way of separating the those who really need it from those who just want it there would have been no need for him to say "OK, get used to it conservatives".
