Albuquerque is a violent crime ridden city. But the gun laws in NM in general are very well accepted. They have constitutional carry now.

I lived in NM for 14 years. Traveled for a living, outside sales. Most of the time I had a gun when I was traveling.

I’m 67 years old and only 2 times in my life have I had to produce a gun. Once in TX when I was in college and once in NM. In neither case did I fire a weapon, but in both cases the confrontation “ended” quickly after I produced it.

Even the Democrats in NM are gun lovers, there are many who love to hunt and it is part of life there.

One of the reasons we didn’t retire to ABQ. I went to high school there and when we moved to NM in ‘63, I don’t think there were a million people in the state. Now I think there’s that many in ABQ. Yes, there were pick up trucks in the HS parking lot with rifles in the racks behind the seat. Nobody ever had an issue with it. Weird how there are some many libs in NM that own guns. LOL! Maybe they’re just not ready to give them up with so many dangerous conservatives around. Now if we could just get the NV legislature to push for constitutional carry..... Based on the “conservatives” now controlling the Assembly and Senate, we kind of thought we’d gain some ground but like the US House and Senate, it appears we wasted our time (s)electing “conservative” candidates. Pretty friggin’ sad.
