Years ago, when I was stationed in Washington, we went to the Smithsonian Arboretum. While we were there a grade school class from one of the DC schools came racing through. The didn't stop to look at anything. They gabbled at the top of their lungs about anything but what was in front of them. The ultimate, though, was when we heard one girl say "What's that funny smell?" That "funny smell," young lady, was green growing things.
Having lived in a fully urban environment — I can appreciate their wonderment.
