Having two groups of armed men in the same area but not under the same orders is asking for trouble. Confusion could result in one side thinking they are under attack.

I know what the Texas State Guard is. I also know that it appears like Texas wants to start something, and the Fedgov might just let oblige them.

Again, this is not a smart move.

Texas Gov. Abbott was on top of this from the beginning...

*************
Maybe he was on top of it but does he really understand exactly what “it” is? Is it not possible that there are multiple, complex objectives in this exercise, the full extent of which are not fully known? It wouldn’t be the first time people only saw the top layer of a multi-faceted operation (i.e., you will see what I want you to see).

Let me assure you, deception is often employed in military tactics. And in Obama’s case, its pretty evident by now that deception underlies nearly everything he does.

Being as this is training on domestic soil, one would think that open communication and transparency would be beneficial to the objectives of the training operations, if they were clearly stated. More communication with the targeted areas would be better than less and engender cooperation by the public rather than suspicion. To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, we can trust but we need to verify first.

I can’t find any source saying that the Texas Guard being armed was included in the Governor’s orders to monitor the exercise.

Having any armed military on an exercise on US civilian soil among civilians is a very provocative move, isn’t it?

It is. But the military needs to train to fight 4th generation somewhere. We spent a decade and half trying to fight like WWII in an insurgency.

Private property owners have been contacted and agreements have been made. These were done months ago, our ranch is part of the training area.

When this first came up, over a month ago (or was it two), I read the objectives and one of those was to infiltrate the public with the objective being not to be noticed, to fit in. To walk the streets with the public not knowing they were there. Being there and not raising suspicion.

That would mean they couldn’t tell the population where they exactly are.
