I wouldn't be surprised if some of the victim's families were Democrats, but what Trump says about illegal immigrant crime resonates with them, as it does with many, many Americans, regardless of political party.
The liberals and their media buddies are trying to make it all about race and social class, but Trump won't have any of that.
He talks about law and order and keeping American safe from illegal alien crime and violence.
That is appealing to Americans regardless of race, social status, etc.
Trump may bring "common-sense Democrats" over to our side, and for that, the press and their liberal overlords are vilifying him. They are scared to death that Trump might steal some of their mind-controlled masses away from them.
Some of these folks keep bring up the past, doing everything then can to discredit Trump. Yet completely ignore what these professional politicians and this government have done to our country for the past 30 years.
Thanks for the kind words, but the video was hitting everywhere last night. I just passed it on.
. . . which is precisely the role the First Amendment intends for free and independent presses.Wire services, by constituting continual virtual meetings of people of the same trade (journalism) led directly to the consequence Adam Smith predicted:
a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices.Wire services - especially the Associated Press - constitute a Borg which homogenizes reporting and suppresses dissent from journalisms orthodoxy. That orthodoxy is that Teddy Roosevelt was wrong - and that his man in the arena, in Elizabeth Warrens cynically dismissive phrase, didnt build that. That view is journalistic (and socialistic) orthodoxy simply because journalists and socialists are the critic who, in Teddy Roosevelts telling, dont amount to much.
The Donald is a certified JoePa Truther. Shit just got real for you, huh?
But I wonder if he would be too much for the President, say Cruz, to handle.
Unworkable. VPOTUS is a unique office, most resembling a prince in a monarchy. But whereas a prince might normally expect that he will eventually inherit the throne, VPOTUS normally toils - if that is the word - in obscurity. And the number of sitting VPs who have ever been elected to the presidency is shockingly low. Adams following Washington and Jefferson following Adams predated the 12th Amendment which established the modern system of VP selection. Martin van Buren following Andrew Jackson, and GHWB following Reagan are the only two modern examples - both, not so coincidentally IMHO, one-termers.IMHO getting your sitting VP elected POTUS is a sign of presidential significance, a virtual 3rd term. And - IMHO tragically - Eisenhower didnt get that word. Ike had the political capital at the end of his career to have probably been able to put Nixon over the top in the hairs breadth election of 1960, but he did not choose to try. Had Nixon won in 1960 he would have been far less cynical than the Nixon of 1968 - and had Nixon won in 1960, the Bay of Pigs would have turned out quite differently. And Vietnam would have been handled differently as well.
But, back to 2016.Trump is noted as an executive. He would be bored to tears, and a loose cannon on that account, as VP. OTOH if Cruz were VP, you could kick him upstairs to SCOTUS at the first vacancy and he - and conservatives - would be thrilled.
Is this supposed to mean something to me?
Any one of the other GOP candidates could have brought out these families, listened to them, and given them a chance to tell their stories. But only Trump did.
Overnight, he became their hero, and the spokesman for others like them who have been victimized by illegal immigrants.
In one brilliant move, Trump has shown himself to be both fearless and compassionate, at the same time sticking it to the liberal media and establishment politicians, Republicans and Democrat alike.
I was told before the press conference started all the victims families cheered when Trump showed up to the event in LA. Several were crying...

All of them had to go through hassles, red tape, and complete disregard and disrespect for their plight, especially from those who had the power and responsibility to help them.
The government didn't help. They only made matters worse.
The media didn't help. Probably because the victims' stories didn't further their own liberal agenda.
The politicians and media made it clear that they cared more about the illegal immigrants than the victims of their crimes.
Finally, someone is listening.
