I also use Moslem and Moslems when describing them. I understand it ticks off the muzzies!

The Arabic, which is the only "true" pronunciation, doesn't resemble Moslem or Muslim. Both are Anglicizations of transliterations. The Moslem pronunciation actually changes with the dialect, anyway. The politically correct "mooselim" is no more actually correct than any other. It is, however, the PC pronunciation and no other can be tolerated by sensitive folks because it sounds so exotic.

I vary my own usage from time to time with Paynim or Saracen or Mussulman, or Mohammedan. All have historical precedent in English usage.
