"Elections change nothing. There are rules."
Those were the words of Wolfgang Schaeuble, Germany's finance minister and the nightmare of Europe's anti-austerity movements. And looking at the bailout proposal that Greece submitted to its creditors on Thursday night, he wasn't wrong.
The Greek government is accepting the overwhelming majority of the deal just rejected at its referendum, and it will get no up-front debt relief.

Same could be said of the last selection cycle here - with the Uniparty involved...
This whole negotiation is a fraud, a kabuki theater. Greece owes billions it can never even hope to repay. Everyone knows that. The current “crisis is about whether or not to kick the can further down the road, and give Greece more $$ it can never repay, in order to stave off a crisis. In return, Greece will supposedly adopt more stringent austerity measures. As if..
Maybe the EU ought to ‘buy’ Greece and turn it into a giant ‘Classical Culture’/Euro Disney theme park. :)
So, the Greeks get a hamburger today for a promise to pay on Tuesday. Yeah, that’s credible. [/s]
It’s really simple: the Greeks win. As this process continues, nothing will change except the ever increasing amount of their bailout.
All around this world, over and over again, the same words are spoken.
“Put me in charge, and things will be perfect.”
“Put me in charge of this nation.”
“Put me in charge of this state.”
“Put me in charge of this city.”
“Put me in charge of this department.”
“Put me in charge of this business.”
And everything will be perfect.
Flowery words and promises don’t improve countries.
Hard work and hard thinking improve countries
Actually, what they should do is make Greece the permanent home for the Olympic games, and stop having countries waste billions every four years...see Brazil, Russia.. Build a first class athletic infrastructure, and it could be used for lots more...World Cup...other international evens. Greece has a great climate..they could shape their tourist economy around this.
I was going to post almost the exact same thing. Must make too much sense to implement.
It's apparent that the Greeks are incapable of honest and efficient self-governance... I mean if the corruption is SO pervasive and long-standing... It will be ages before they return to responsible and ethical policies and procedures.
In the mean time, they could become solvent (maybe) as the EU Olympic and tourist playground.
That's a stretch but it's better than going on as they have been.
The Rothschild-Buildeburg one world banking system cannot afford to allow Greece to descend into a post economy apocalypse as the chaos would be the first domino in a long string.
Ages? Do you really think it will be that soon?
Did you know that the ancient Greek's were the first to engage in currency debasement (inflation)? That was thousands of years ago. I don't think things will EVER change.
Maybe Turkey will invade and take care of them ..?
I keep reading that (or similar), but I wonder whom this return does any good? The new money will soon be as gone as the old money is now, so the folks giving the money get exactly *nothing* in return. JMHO.
