If Trump gets the nomination, is subsequently pilloried, abandoned and trashed by the media, losses face with all of these “common men” who are supporting his unique personality and then loses the general election...

I personally don’t know if Cruz can beat Hillary. I am certain that he will also be trashed by the media. The difference is that image is not all that Cruz has going for him. I do know that running moderates doesn’t work. I do know that running flip floppers doesn’t work. I do know that cults of personality fizzle out. I do know that conservatism needs to pushed to the forefront once again and the ideas behind conservatism need to be eloquently explained by someone. Cruz can do that. If that strategy can’t win, then I guess we are screwed. It is a hell of a lot better than a strategy of nominating a loose cannon based on his personality and hoping that he knows what the hell he is doing.
