“James Head, a 34-year police veteran who has spent 26 years with Waco PD, was among the first 14 on the panel qualified to serve on the grand jury and, beyond that, 19th State District Judge Ralph Strother selected Head to serve as the foreman.

When asked if he had any involvement in the massive Twin Peaks investigation, Head said, “Not really.” He would not elaborate on that answer and deferred additional questions about the Twin Peaks incident to the Waco City Attorney’s Office.”

Please answer Yes or No Mr. Head!

“Not really” means “Yes.”

"Not Really".

That's the funniest damn non-answer I've seen in a long time.

As in "No, I wasn't actually at the scene, but I've read all the internal reports and pretty much know the whole story, but no. I really wasn't "involved"."

I served on juries four times, as foreman twice. The first time was luck-of-the-draw; the judge said seat number one would be default foreman and that was my number. The second time was by vote of my fellow jurors, because I'd done it before. I'm wondering if the "selection" was luck-of-the-draw or judge's choice.

"...a 34-year police veteran who has spent 26 years with Waco PD..."

In most PDs, "Detective" is the very first rung of the promotion ladder up from "Recruit" or "beat-walking Patrolman".

If that is the case in Waco, this guy doesn't appear to have had a stellar 34 or even 26-year career...

In the Army, that would equate to being a one-stripe PFC -- at (or beyond) retirement age.

Not, exactly, impressive...

That right there...ought to disqualify him.
