Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus has asked GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump to tone down his rhetoric on calling illegal immigrants criminals, The Washington Post reports.
Donors appear alarmed that Trump's rhetoric may cause the party serious trouble with the very Hispanic voters they have been trying over the past few years to court, the Post noted.
"Many financiers who are influential at the RNC have been fuming about Trumps ascent and told Priebus that he must ensure that the RNCs efforts over the past year to win more of the Hispanic vote is not harmed," the Post reports.
The phone call lasted about 45 minutes and covered various topics, including immigration, according to RNC officials. Trump had called Priebus over the weekend and left a voicemail, making the return call less confrontational.
Trump has come under fire since he said in his June 16 campaign announcement that Mexicans are crossing the border bringing drugs and committing rape and murder. "And some, I assume, are good people," he said.

= the ESTABLISHMENT of the DC status quo.
Trump tweeted its not true. He says the call was 10 minutes and Priebus praised him.
The Panderers are upset that Trump is not pandering.
