If that's the case, then the legislators and Governor have spines of jello. In the end it was their decision - they had the votes, not the media.
They old media would have incited riots just like they did in Ferguson, MO when a white cop was forced to kill a criminal of color.

Don’t you see, without the media and Hollywood promoting this unknown criminal from Chicago, he never would have left Illinois. I know the majority of voters checked his name, but they did because of the promotionals.

They already have Black Bike Week in Myrtle Beach every Memorial Day weekend for the past 35 years. Southerners as a whole are not nearly as race-prejudiced as Northerners. The prejudice that did exist under Jim Crow was led and enforced by Democrat power brokers and their gangs of useful idiots, while the more genteel or Christian average Southerner just tried to get along politely. In my experience, many poor whites experienced the same "classism" as blacks in the old days of Southern class systems. When my husband and I, both northern whites with college degrees, lived at Fort Benning before he went to Viet Nam, we tried to attend the Opera House, but were denied admission because he was not an officer. The highest concentration of blacks state-by-state is still in the South. White northern liberal snobs sneer about racism in the South, never having spent any time there, yet they live in gated communities, flee to suburbs and send their kids to carefully gerrymandered schools.

People in SC repeatedly pick the worst possible Republican nominees, as we have seen again.
The Republican primary voters are incapable of nominating anyone good.
What I saw is that the president of the group said he was too demoralized to attend the removal of the little flag at the little monument in Columbia.
Don’t you think this uninformed and historically illiterate SC governor thinks she is sealing for herself a place for V.P. on the 2016 ticket?
So why would would think that the majority totalitarians of 2012 are willing to reverse course in 2016?
The Jebbie-Nikki ticket will sweep FL, TX, and SC, for sure!
